Anthrocon Press And Video Policy
« on: July 27, 2013, 02:27:33 am »
Hey, just one last question for you guys.

I've heard that Anthrocon does not take kindly to videos or pictures taken inside the convention. After checking that out on their website, I found that was true. It seems that the people at Anthrocon do not trust outside viewers. But this is weird because I keep hearing that being a furry is no different than being a part of any other fandom.
I am sorry to say that I am now no longer posting at Furtopia. Please read here for the full story. I really wish everyone the best.

I think you need a bit more info on this subject. All vids and pics are welcome. It's the media that is subject to being escorted by staff. Outright sensationalism by the media has damaged the fandom. Causing a lot of hurt feelings. I don't know anyone who enjoys being portrayed as a sexual deviant. Or worst, bestiality. Pittsburgh's local media has many videos AND news broadcasts INSIDE Anthrocon.

NO idea what website you were on. More misinformation and hype I guess. Go to Youtube and find out for yourself. Like MILLIONS of other people do.
It's been said that rats can gain access to your home by climbing up threw your toilet. I prefer to use the front door.

Cause is a bit right. Due to how the media likes to sensationalise and explode things out of proportion, Anthrocon and some other conventions have strict policies about the media people reporting stuff or running about the convention. Media will need to be escorted at all times, and usually the convention Chairman or other designated convention staff will be the ones to handle media questions.

Thanks. I suppose while we know it's just a fandom, some other people don't. Well, that's it for my questions.

I've attended Anthrocon five times, and I have posted a bunch of pictures and videos from AC on my Photobucket page and YouTube. And nobody on the AC staff has complained to me about any of my videos.  BTW Uncle Kage was very nice enough to cut a introduction to one of my videos at AC this year! :) http://youtu.be/yirdxg7Lq8c

If you post a video of you and your friends having fun at the con or a few clips from the ballroom events, you wont get into any trouble.

The only thing that will get you in trouble is if you post a video on YouTube making the con or the convention staff look bad. Or if you post a video of you or your freinds doing damage to the hotel or trashing your hotel room. Someone did this a few years ago, and they were banned from that con.
