Are you a Chocoholic?
« on: May 09, 2008, 07:11:34 pm »
How many of you out there love Chocolate? Raise your paw?

I love chocolate, but I don't eat as much as I used to when I was younger. I just don't want to make myself sick or have my dentist yelling at me because of cavities.  :-[ My favorite items to munch on are Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and also chocolate covered peanuts. Yum! :) I absolutely detest anything that has caramel in the center, coconut in it, and also chocolate covered cherries.  :P Like milk chocolate the best. Dark chocolate I'll eat occasionally. Semi-sweet I'm not too fond of. And white chocolate I'll eat very rarely.

So go ahead, share your favorite things to eat, like, dislike, etc. about chocolate. :)

Milk chocolate is my favorite, dark is okay when it does not taste like bitter dirt, like everything Reese's, the chocolate covered paydays are good, chocolate covered toffee, I might as well say I like it all.  :)

Dark. Dark. Daaaaarrrrrk.

Seriously. I had always gone through life thinking dark chocolate was bitter and terrible, but then one day my friend and I bought some at a Russian supermarket and I tried ist. It changed my life. I now measure time in terms of B.D.C. and A.D.C. (Before Dark Chocolate and After Dark Chocolate).

DARK.
When I was younger I would eat those unsweetened chunks of baking chocolate. Now I appreciate some sugar in my chocolate, but I still can't get excited about "milk" chocolate. To me, it's just not really chocolate.
Chocolate goes best with coffee or nuts and, like Kobuk says, worst with super-sweet gooey things.

I suppose I am something of a chocoholic, yes  :-[
*raises paw really high*

I like all sorts of chocolate, but white chocolate (with whole hazelnuts or crispy rice) has to be my favorite.
Combined with milk or a mild-flavored tea: yummy!

Another favorite combination 'a mine is dark (dark-dark) chocolate with a good cup of coffee.
(Although I really have to be in the mood for that one.)

And hot chocolate with whipped cream when it's winter, of course. With chocolate-sprinkles.

I prefer imported chocolate as a lot of American chocolate is horrible, waxy crap. My favorites are Perugina semi-sweet dark chocolate, (Grey wrapper) Perugina Dark (Orange wrapper), as well as dark Toblerone. Also, I like Terry's Chocolate Orange in both milk and dark chocolate versions.

MmMmmmMMMMmmm dark chocolate!
My favorite treat is orange peel dipped in dark chocolate.

I almost always like chocolate-covered nuts.

I love any *good quality* chocolate, dark or otherwise.  I do not consider the run-of-the-mill U.S. candy bars (like regular Hersey's) good quality; it tends to have far too much paraffin plus a gritty consistancy.

All my tooths are sweet tooths. I adore chocolate and since mom has diabetes I can't consume as much as I would like.  I get mood swings now since I'm possibly addicted to it. If I don't have chocolate, I get very irritated at anything that goes wrong. I've had some last night but not today.

I love the taste of chocolate.  Caramel too.  unfortunately, chocolate gives me heartburn, and irritates my throat as well.  I dont eat chocolate as often as I did when I was a child, but I still enjoy it from time to time.

I'm not too much of a chocoholic. Itico is more of one than me. Due to some dietary restrictions, I actually went two years without any. I do like the occasional chocolate. Lindt dark chocolate with pear is one of my favs. Two others that are great: Chocolove 33% cocoa milk chocolate with toffee and almonds, and Lindt dark chocolate with orange.

Chocolate...Oh boy...

I often get some sort of chocolate desert when eating out.  I don't eat as much as I used to, just because it's one of those luxury things to me.  When I was in college, I would get some form of chocolate at least five days out of seven.

Like a lot of food related things, I have a hard time deciding what I like the best.  It really does depend on how I feel.  Gooey chocolate and fudge with brownies and nuts.  Hot chocolate, chocolate milk.  Peanut butter and chocolate.  Clusters.  Um, ice cream, chocolate stuff inside ice cream.  Chocolate covered nuts, cherries, caramel, nougets, chocolate covered chocolate.  Raisins, oh yeah.

While I agree for the most part with the mass produced American chocolate, I still do like a few products.  However, I like the darker chocolates most of the time.  Besides, I hear it's better for you anyhow.  White chocolate isn't, sorry. ;)

Oh, yeah, and mint chocolate, orange chocolate...um.

Okay, I guess that's it.

Well, I tired a 80% coca dark chocolate, nope, tastes like bean dirt, I will stick with extra or just creamy milk chocolate. (I do not eat it enough anymore to worry about the sugar.)

I like bitter chocolate ... the kind that tastes like "bean dirt", lol. It goes best with coffee. I enjoy the subtle sweetness of both the darkest chocolates and blackest coffees.

I'm not a chocoholic though, as I rarely eat the stuff. It sickens me after a bite or two.

chocolate is meh to me. i like it, and i'll eat it. but if i see a chocolate bar sitting there, i am in no way compelled to buy it. if tehre are Shockers or something like that there......its sold. but milk chocolate is the best of chocolates. add peanuts or almonds and you've got a winner......or mint..... though i do agree with Kiyoshi on that it does get too sweet after a little bit.

Dark chocolate is my favorite. But I will eat any type.

BUT

It cannot be Hershey's or some other cheap brand.
