Cheese Fritters!

It's been a long time since I made these, so I hope I remember the recipe.  ':blush:'  This is a simple appetizer that you can make for snacking or for a small party. The amount of ingredients will vary depending on the amount of people you will serve. The following recipe will be an example for serving 30 people or less. This recipe was only used for restaurant/catering purposes at my last job where I used to make thousands of these per month. It was never intended for home use. You'll have to experiment a bit with how much ingredients to use, cooking temps, etc. to get the desired effect you want for home use.

CHEESE FRITTERS

Ingredients:
1 quart milk
6 cups flour.
6 eggs
50 slices of bacon
1 block of cheddar cheese
Toothpicks
1-2 boxes of some type of bread crumb coating.

1. Cut your bacon strips in half to make a total of 100 slices.

2. Cut your block of cheese into 1/2"-3/4" inch sized cubes.

3. Combine 1 quart milk and 6 eggs into a bowl and whip together.

4. Pour your flour into a seperate bowl, and also pour your bread crumbs into another seperate bowl.

5. Lay your bacon strips on a counter and add 1 cube of cheese on each slice. Roll the bacon completely around the cheese and then insert a toothpick into the bacon wrap so it looks like the following:  --@--

6. Add the bacon wraps to your eggwash mixture and coat generously.

7. Transfer the wraps to the bowl of flour and coat generously.

8. Transfer the wraps again to the eggwash mixture and coat generously.

9. Transfer the wraps to the bowl of bread crumbs and coat generously.

10. After the bread crumbs, lay the wraps on a sheet pan and put them in a freezer for a few hours if you are not going to be serving them right away. If serving right away, transfer the wraps to a deep fryer and cook for (Educated guess.) about 5-10 mins. until the bread coating is a golden brown. If you don't have a deep fryer, you can try to cook the fritters on a sheet pan in the oven. I've never experimented with an oven, so anything I mention is only a guess, however, you should always make sure to cook anything thoroughly (In an oven or deep fryer.) and keep an eye on the item. It's always best to test a few small pieces first. Best guess for oven usage would be 350-400 degrees for 15 minutes. If 15 minutes is not long enough, then try a little bit longer. It is also best to pre-heat your oven before putting the fritters in. Also, do not cover the sheet pan with foil or anything else when cooking fritters in the oven.

11. When fritters are done cooking, transfer to a bowl, plate, or whatever and serve warm.   '<img'>  Fritters may also be served with a favorite dipping sauce if you prefer.
