I explore the woods near my house and try to be really stealthy all the time, also when me and my freinds play paintball i will stalk them around before going in for the kill. And i love climbing trees!

I spent most of junior high creating my own comic universe populated by talking dogs.Cats, monsters and one particularly heavily armed dogcatcher were the villains. The dogcatcher was my token "Evil Human". I used him to express my frustrations at a lifetime of poor treatment by my fellow humans. That's why he managed to survive when  the hero dogs were known for killing enemies with extreme prejudice. I needed to keep him alive to continue to use him as a punching bag. My stuff was pretty gory back then.

When a video game required you to type in a name for your character I'd use names like Dog Lord or just plain dog. Sometimes Dingo, because that was the name of the pack leader of my dog characters. He was modeled off my real life german shepherd.

I think I was just beginning to realize then that I identified more with dogs than I did humans then. It showed in everything I did, from the drawings to the shows I watched to the stuff I collected.
You humans need to refine, alter, corral codify and measure things yes? Very well. I shall use your wristwatch to count out ten of your seconds. I suggest you use that time to run. For at the end of it I shall come for you and I will catch you and we shall measure the duration of your death... In screams.

I didn't learn about the existence of the organized furry fandom until I was already in college, but I was definitely a fan of furry characters long before that.  I always absolutely loved watching cartoons as a kid and waited for Saturday mornings with anticipation, but by about 6th grade I started to really "notice" the attractive female anthropomorphic characters in some of the cartoons that I was watching.  Characters like "Cleo," the female cat character from The Catillac Cats, and "Princess Sally" from Sonic the Hedgehog started to peak my interest.

By junior high my interest with female furry and cartoon animal characters really started to grow.  At about this time I became infatuated with the character "Felicia" from the Capcom arcade game Darkstalkers after seeing the game one day at a pizza place, and I started purposefully watching certain cartoons and animated feature films solely because of the female furry/cartoon animal characters that were in them.   When you are junior high-aged you are often concerned about appearing "cool" to others and fitting in, and as a result I was keenly aware that I would likely be ridiculed mercilessly if my friends or other students at my junior high ever found out that I was still watching Disney animated movies, because Disney was largely viewed as "little kid stuff" by them.  Because of this, I used to secretively sneak movies like The Aristocats up to my bedroom at night so that no one, including my younger siblings and my parents, would know that I was watching them.  At the time I felt bad enough that I was in junior high school and still watching The Aristocats, but I felt even more embarrassed about it because I was because the reason why I was repeatedly watching The Aristocats because I had a huge crush on "Duchess," the mother cat character from the film.  By the end of junior high my female furry/cartoon animal fascination had finally made its way into my artwork, and instead of drawing the endless World War II warplanes and Star Wars-esque fighting spaceships that I exclusively drew up until then, I started drawing female cartoon animal characters of my own for the first time.  The first female cartoon animal character that I ever designed and drew in junior high was a white female cat character named "Rebecca" (who many years later eventually went on to play the part of the girlfriend character in the twice-weekly "Tiggerman" comic strip that I did for the Illinois State University Daily Vidette newspaper).

I finally discovered the existence of the organized furry fandom and that there were other artists out there like me that drew the same subject matter once I finally got a decent (as in greater than a 28,800bps V.34 MODEM) Internet collection, which allowed me to discover the artwork of other furry artists online through websites like VCL.  I started attending furry conventions in 2003, and started selling my artwork in furry convention art shows in 2005.

Hm... when I was a kid I once conceptualized and began to write a story with anthropomorphic characters and TF as a main theme (even though I only got a couple chapters into it before abandoning the project completely). Didn't learn about what 'furry' was exactly until a couple of years later or so though.

Reckon that would count... past that, I was into the usual types of 'furry' things that kids are into as well, like plushies, Disney movies, and things like that. Nothing really out of the usual for someone that age (I say 'as a kid' because I learned of and joined furry fandom at roughly thirteen-and-a-half years old), but still thought I'd throw it out there. :p

Actually wrote a fan letter to Wile E. Coyote, about the time he appeared in an Oldsmobile ad.  I had seen his likeness painted on the inside of a hatch on an A-10 Warthog. The Road Runner responded.

When i was younger i was TERRIFIED of dogs to the point where i wouldn't go near one AT ALL. But that left me with cats, i loved LOLCATS, and Calvin and Hobbes books and sonic games, i even wanted to be Shadow for Halloween one year (that didn't happen -.-) and i was always interested in animal mascots. I played with my stffed white tiger abd manatee and dog and made them go on an adventure  and stuff. But that's about as furry as it gets.

But i was always a drawer but i never drew any animals. I've never watched Lion King until a few weeks ago. I did have a habit of biting things but i eventually broke enough things that i stopped. I didn't act like any animal i probably didn't know what a fox was until i stated playing sonic games.

I liked the furry fandom for what it was and animals just made it extra cool

I guess I just adored cartoon animals wherever I saw them. :) And the Lion King was my childhood film, and that sort of helped me discover furry as well.

And soft toys (animals), I've never been able to be apart from them. la la.  (:

I'd imagine it'd be fairly easy. Haven't you ever seen Toy Story?

I prefer animals and anthros to people. I've been that way since I was ten.
I own a few plushies, but they've been in a box at my Mom's house for the past 15 years.
I daydream about furries being real.
I chew on stuff.
I try pet food every once in a while.

I did all those before knowing of furry (late 90's) and counting myself as a furry (September), and I still do.

What's new since counting myself as one?

I made a fursona.
Furry forums and chat.
I've drawn a furry - my avatar.
I plan to go fursuiting and conning.

I only realized what furry was and accepted meself as one in the last year!! but when i was little, my mom hated that I ruined all my jeans and tennies by crawling around on all fours with some sort of tail tied to the back of my pants. I collected tons of stuffed animals and have been obsessed with foxes ever since as a child, me and my sister went to a fortune teller and she told me that was my spirit animal.. because foxes are "clever, creative, and pretty!" I have drawn hundreds of foxes, wolves and dragons, read about them, fantasized about magical worlds with them. :D I love it and I'm proud of it!! The only new things I've found is RPing in forums with other furries ;D

There was nothing absolutely major like pretending to be an animal or anything but i do keep all my stuffed animals, read Calvin and Hobbes comics, and i always looked for mascots and stuff. But if you take away the animal part of the fandom you see the fun and meaning that makes the fandom so different but so awesome, and that's what i liked most. Animals made it extra cool!

i always had a thing for animals... As I discovered this fandom last june, I realized in all actuality that was what I was all along. I had many anthromorphs, for they have always intrigued me. But I never had a name for them. Though whenever possible in Games, I played some animal race, Like a were cat or the Khajiit from Oblivion.

Hmm...well, I've always made odd noises at things that startle me. Either a hiss or a yelp that my mom would tease me about; "you sound like a little yappy dog!"

When I was little I loved dinosaurs and started imitating the velociraptors from Jurassic Park by walking around digitigrade. I still have this skill from doing it over the years, and often dance digitigrade. (Guess having big feet is good for something!)

I was big into pet monster games. Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, Tamagotchi, Dragon Warrior Monsters, you name it.

Also had some affinity for fangs and claws and playing in the moonlight...but I attribute that to my love of Halloween.
We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals...gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.

I bought fur bits and tails at various outdoor fairs--sold as hackle for fly-tying. Several coyote pelts (cheap) bought through the mail from a taxidermy shop in Nebraska. Most of the pelts were roll-off pelts. I pulled one over my arm like a puppet. The cat did not appreciate that and attacked the "puppet" at the throat.

Well it started with comics and cartoons. Calvin and Hobbes and Pooch Cafe were my favorite comics and I'm a huge Digimon fan. My first manga was Angelic layer, and my favorite was the cat-girl. I eventually drifted off to +Anima, a world where certain people have animal powers. As I got older, I headed into Fruits Basket and Ranma 1/2.

Video games! I was, and still am, more of a computer gamer than a console gamer, and so every game I play has character customization. Ever since I was like 6 I have dressed my character in the most animal-related costume I could, and chose the most animal related class as well. My IGN is a reference to +Anima as well. This was all before I knew what a furry was  :P After realizing that other furries tend to do the same thing (animal costume/name) I've actually managed to meet another one when I knew them well enough to ask. Horray!

Chew and chew and chew.... I used to shew small boxes apart that my parents gave to me to play with... Lately before it was pencils, erasers, plastic cups, anything really could get my mouth on. Another is computer games. In skyrim I would dress my character as a cat or dog. I also always like to play with our dogs and act like a dog not push them over and rough house you know :P

  • Chew. I still chew (suddenly craves something nice and hard to gnaw on).
  • I'd wear a purple fake feather boa as a tail as a wee one (Don't do that one anymore)
  • Plushies. If I didn't give allot of the plushies I had away whan I was younger (sorry for the grammer, need to sleep), I would have an entire part of my bedroom just FULL of stuffed animals. (Saddly, I havd to clean out my horde to clear out space, or because our dogs destroyed it...... :( )

I love chewing things, it feels good to me!!!!
Sadly, sometimes my boyfriend has to be chewed on when I am nervous and have nothing else to chew on.  Sometimes I also chew on my finger. I have always drew people with ears and tails and animal like features! And  I also have a ton of hats that all have ears on them :3 I don't feel normal with a hat on that doesn't have ears on it. :D

I'm pregnant, YAY!.

When i was little i would imagine myself with a tail all the time. I also chew things and had dreams and daydreams of what i would be like if my family were animals.

have a fascination for any kind of media with talking animals, like a lot of people here, i hear.
letting my imagination run wild as usual to put myself in the shoes of a character, then fit said character into my current life.

it was all fun.
Down, never out!
