This is actualy the first time I have ever posted on a forum so I am kind of nervious.

A few things about my self:
I am 20 years old and I have been a fur for a few years now.  I'm in collage right now learning electronics.  My main interests are advanced science and technology, fursuiting, vidio gaming, watching TV, and sci-fi.  I also love to build all kinds of things and collect lots of hi-tech gadgets that I can take apart and put back to gether.

Heya, Naquadria.
Welcome aboard the furtopia.org forums!
You'll likely get over that nervousness real quick. The furs here are pretty friendly, so noone's going to jump down your throat or nothin'. Heheh.
Enjoy your stay and be sure to come back soon. '<img'>

Well I have never met any other furs before and I am too shy to go out and meet people. So I looked for a place like this where it would be easier to talk to other people.

naquadria - I forgot to mention this in my initial excitement, but I too tinker with electrical thingamabobs, and have run high voltages through my body more times that I can count (NOTE: try to avoid doing this, it causes great pain). '<img'>

Unlikely. Right before typing this, I managed to run 120 volts (yes, house current) through my hand pluging in a computer monitor. I feel horribly stupid right now.

Welcome Naquadria,

As you can already tell, were a silly bunch furs.  Getting smothered by hugs is probably the biggest threat you'll face here.

This is definitely a safe place to work on overcoming your shyness.  So keep posting and join the fun.

Well, however you came upon us, as you can see, you are very welcome here and yes, there are TONS of hugs available ALL the time!

I too over came some shyness and other things being involved in the community on the computer. It really helps.

First of all, welcome Naquadria, have fun and all of that stuff.

Second, I've managed to grab a hotwire when trying to build a light for a jack-o-lantern. The stupidest thing about it was that I was so confused about what happened, I tried to pick it up again. I should have unplugged it first, I'm a moron. Anyway, it didn't hurt all that bad, it just kinda felt like my whole arm was vibrating. Besides, the ammount of electricity that comes out of a standard socket isn't all that much, right? 15 or 20 volts, or am I wrong?

Actually, wall current is roughly 120volts in the US and 220volts in the UK. More than enough to kill you, but it is the amps that hurt and kill, not the volts. '<img'>

Well if your talking about a standard wall socket it's usually about 120V.
