No I am not a Scalie. The words Scalie was made because a Furrie Dragon wanted to be cute. Furrie is Furrie...scales fins flippers paws fur or whatever.  Scalie is just what Furries who are Dragons call themselves.

Im not a Furrie because I dont play make believe. Sorry if it offends, but I am as much Human as I am Dragon. I dont devise the two and I have clarity in my memories as well on the matters of being Draconis. The differance is I didnt just decide to one day be a creature like a Dragon. It was always that way.

Now to stop any possible questions on this matter for the future I will simply say I am not trusting enough or comfortable enough to delve into the hows or whys of this situation. Its simply too personal.

Again, if this offends you by me not answering further querry on the subject, I do appologize as pain in your heart is not my intent.

No problem, I totally respect your request 100%, because there are many things about me that are also just too personal and I wouldn't want to feel forced or pressured in to talking about it. Now if it seemed as though I was prying for information I extend my sincerest appologies for the reason that I meant no harm. I think I understand how you feel on the matter of privacy, so as for me, no offense taken. '<img'>

O, and one more thing, as you may not have realized, I do not have a picture as my avatar or anything of that sort because I believe that is part of the (as you've said) make belief process (no offense meant to anyone off course), hence do intend to (anyone correct me if i'm incorrect). However by saying that, it does not change the fact that I would still be considered to be furry, because there are multiple of ways to be furry. Just to give my insight.

Belated welcome Rbstt,

Sometime you need to provide us with a phonetic spelling of your name, so we know how to pronounce it properly. '<img'>

As others have said, furry is a very general title that covers a wide range of things.  It includes people who are fans of furry art, animation and literature, to furs who believe there are truly an animal part of themselves.

Some of your questions may be answered by the Furry faq.  (Isn't there a FAQ for everything these days? ':p' )

Me?  I'm somewhere in the middle.  I have created an alternate persona that is an anthropomorphic hybrid cat - skunk.  I enjoy nature and animals, but feel my furry inclinations come more from a heavy does of animation, cartoons, and literature like the Chronicles of Narnia and Watership Down when I was growing up.  I notice that I'm drawn more to furry art that imitates good animation than the ultra realistic furry art.

My furry persona is sort of a super version of myself.  Drake isn't perfect, but he does have qualities that I'm working to develop in myself.  In a way, he is who I want to be when I finish growing up.  (I'm 34, but as you get older you realize you never really finish growing up)

Drake

As for anyone wondering about my name it is quite as simple as I dont have much imagination, so I simply took the vowels out of my actual last name and used the byproduct as my user name. I guess it would be pronounced as Rabsatt, just as it is spelled or 'rab' 'sat'. I am still unsure if I am going to choose as species and name for my avatar's sake, but if I do, I think it would be something between the sabretooth tiger or lion. any suggestions?

O, and one more thing. the 'e' is for my first name.

Hello and a rather late welcome from the resident bear. Hope you enjoy your time around here and feel free to roam study, and reply to the threads here. As to the question Furry for m came from my liking for the art and writing my furry persona (if you can call it that) I didn't choose myself it kind of choose me (but it has been there all along other wise it wouldn't have shown itself to me). I look upon the bear aspect as a kind of muse for me. Not exctly helpful I know but then again I never make much sense anyway   '<img'>  . Welcome anyhow and the complimentary  Bear hug is available if you  needs it.

I am not a dancing bear toothless claw less here for your amusement, more like the other way round.
