WOW, Thanks everone!

Thanks everyone who replied, I already am feeling no longer cut off from the furry world. And now to answer the question that of you asked me. What led me to contact the furry world, besides Chaz? Quite honestly, I'm not sure. I just felt the need to contact another furs. So don't ask me. I just don't know, but I don't regret that I did contact other furrys.  Well now I am supposed to ask questions of my own. Well, my first question is did I put this post in the right forum?
I am still very new to posting but I am willing to learn the do's and don'ts of posting. So if I did put this in the wrong area tell me where I should post from now on. Thanks.
P.S. What are these "Cilckable Smilies" things?

I'm glad to see that you feel more confident and as part of the furry world. As for where this goes, I'm not the expert on that, someone much experienced than I will probably answer in full.

P.S. The clickable smiles are simply emotes or emoticons, designed to add emotions to your posts... I guess.

This is probably the right forum for a thank you post to responses to your intro.  But I wouldn't worry too much about posting to the right area.  Start a topic where it seems appropriate, and if it's not the right spot the forum admins will move it.  (Word of warning.  Were a forgiving bunch as most furs are.  Some net forums aren't so and like to pounce on people who make mistakes.  Gaming and techie forums in particular.)

Read through the posts in the other areas of the forum and you should get a general idea of where things should go.  In general, you should also see if a thread/topic already exists for what you are going to post before you start a new topic.

* Laughs * As rbstt said, the clickable smilies are emoticons.  Click on one to add it to your post.  '<img'>  ':.'  '<img'>  ':p'

Emoticons are used for a couple of reasons.  One, in writing you lose the tone of voice and body language that conveys a lot of the meaning of what you say.  Things like sarcasm or humor are easily misinterpreted when put in writing.  The emoticons are a way to show this is suppose to be funny, sarcastic or whatever.  Second, sometimes there just fun and cute.

A lot of furs roleplay, and this carries over to forum posts at times as well.  You often see "poses" written into a post.  A pose is an action that you do.  *Laughs*, *Sneaks up and tickles the timid wolf*, etc..  Think of it as an extension of the emoticon idea.

About the emoticons, you can also add 'em by typing certain character combinations. To find out what, click on the 'Emoticons' helpcard under the main edit box.

I particularly like the smilies here. They're cuter than most others I've seen. '<img'>

The emoticons here are actually a variation of the set on the Yerf forums. They have mouse and fox emoticons there, but the fur that made them didn't want me to just appropriate those exact designs, so I made a set of white kitties. They work out pretty good here.

Foxes? I'll have to check that out. *goes to check*

...

Hmm, yes they're similar. But you know what? I kinda like these ones better. (I guess the fox ones don't look fox enough or something. Or maybe it's the contrast with the background. I like the color scheme here a lot better.)

Glad to hear you are fitting in well Lexington,

As for the Kitty smilles.. the do work very well here. I did make the wolf and dog ones as I told Benjamin I would.. but they just didn't seem to work as well on the black background.. the white kitties work very well.

Oh, I didn't know that you finished those, Chaz. Perhaps you could send them to me and I'll see if I can think of something that'd help them look better on the dark background? Granted, designing stuff for a dark background can be tricky at times.

To be honest, I thought they looked a little more like pigs than anything. Heh.
