Regrettably the scenario on the way home from Malu’s class left little time for the pack of friends to see Jahmus. Let alone have lunch before they had to be at their next class. Delanne could care less about eating though; she only desired to see Jahmus. Entering the house they noticed the kitchen area was cleaned up from breakfast and that the place seemed rather empty and quiet. Only the faint sound of voices could be heard coming from the direction of the wash room. Curiously the trio of girls made their way down the hall and peered into the wash room. Jahmus was sitting in the bath tub with Alana kneeling on the floor leaning in towards the tub holding a soapy wet cloth.

They watched silently as Jahmus slid across the tub attempting to avoid Alana. “I assure you madam…I am quite capable of washing myself.” The human complained.

Alana tried to calm the human down with her own show of stubbornness. “I swear you humans are the most modest stubbornness individuals.”

The fox tried once again to wash his chest but the man slid across the tub avoiding her grasp yet again. “Now how am I supposed to wash you with you sliding around the tub like a child?” She got after him which caused the silent watching girls to begin giggling catching both Jahmus’s and Alana’s attention.

Carrot was the first to speak out. “Somebody’s naked.” She teased out with a giggle.

Jahmus blushed turning his body around in the tub so only his back was exposed to them.

“Well, there goes that.” Alana scoffed out in frustration as she stood and handed the soapy cloth over to Carrot who was the closest to her. “See what you can do with him.” She remarked as she stormed out of the room.

Ce’Dra began laughing. “I think your mother likes him.”

Jahmus turned his head to address the laughing lioness. “Well she has a funny way of showing it.”

Delanne tried to comfort him. “She’s only trying to help you Jahmus.”

The man sighed. “I know she means well my lady, but there are certain boundaries I will not cross.”

There was a moment of silence before Carrot started giggling. “I like him.” She admitted to her friends. “He is politely honest.”

The unfamiliar yet pleasant voice caught Jahmus’s attention. “Who have you brought with you my lady?”

The raccoon began to bounce in place as Delanne introduced her. “This is our new friend Carrot; we met her at class today.”

Looking back over, she noticed that the bouncing raccoon was smiling excitedly. “Carrot, this is Jahmus.”

The man began to blush a little as he covered himself with his left hand so he could turn around and offer the new comer his other one. “It is a pleasure meeting you Carrot.”

The raccoon looked over at Delanne with confusion as the wolf fox explained. “He shakes hands when offering friendship.”

Moving forward, Carrot placed her right paw in his as the gentleman began to shake it lightly. “May I ask what species you are?” He asked.

Carrot began blushing nervously. “I’m…uh…a raccoon…and fox.” She admitted for the first time. For some reason there was something about the human that kept her from keeping her secret.

Delanne raised an eyebrow in disbelief as Ce’Dra giggled out. “I thought so.” The lioness gloated on. “You look more fox than raccoon…well, besides your markings.”

Letting go of Jahmus’s hand, Carrot quickly turned around. “Please don’t tell anyone, they think I’m pure.”

“Your mother was fox?” Delanne asked curiously before scolding her. “Why did you lie to us?”

The raccoon fox opened her mouth to explain but she was interrupted by the curious voice of Jahmus. “Why would you not want the others to know who you are?”

Ce’Dra smiled answering him truthfully. “Before the new tribe was formed yesterday, the elders and many of the islanders saw any mixed species as impure.”

The human thought for a moment before he replied. “So you’re saying there are multiple tribes on the island, each representing a particular breed?”

“That’s right.” Delanne confirmed admiring the human’s intelligence as she kneeled down in front of the tub. “Fox had to be fox and wolf with wolf.”

Jahmus calculated their words in his head and asked curiously. “So your parents started a revolution for equal rights?”

Delanne tilted her head in confusion. “I’m not sure what you mean by a revolution or equal rights, but our parents went before the council and were granted the power to form a new tribe so could live our own way.”

“And without being seen as impure.” Ce’Dra added kneeling down next to Delanne wrapping an arm around her that Jahmus couldn’t see.

“I think I understand.” He answered nervously as he inched further away from the edge of the tub.

Carrot giggled kneeling down on the other side of Ce’Dra as she teased the embarrassed human. “Going somewhere Jahmus?”

The man blushed. “If you ladies don’t mind, I would like to finish my bath.”

“We don’t mind, not at all.” Ce’Dra teased as she giggled along with Carrot.

“Yeah.”  The raccoon fox blurted out. “Go right ahead.”

“I will not.” Jahmus fired out with sarcasm. “Have you no modesty?”

“I’m only curious.” Carrot teased him. “You’re different than us.”

Delanne began to feel sorry for the human and urged her friends to go. “Perhaps we should leave him alone.”

Ce’Dra was still giggling from Carrot’s remark. “Sorry Jahmus, can we see you later?”

The man nodded intently. “I would appreciate that, thank you.”

The lioness and wolf fox looked over at Carrot who was playfully smiling with malice. Still holding the soapy cloth in her hand, she stared at the human in play as she answered her friends. “You two go on ahead, I’m going to bathe him.”

Jahmus pointed a finger in Carrot’s direction. “You stay away from me!” He snapped out with a smile. “I can wash myself.”

Delanne and Ce’Dra watched as Carrot leaned in over the tub smiling playfully. “But I have the cloth.” She teased back.

Jahmus stuck out his hand waving his fingertips. “May I have it please?”

Carrot shook her head as she answered him innocently. “Have what?”

“Stay away from me.” He repeated as his backside hit the other end of the tub.

Enjoying the game he was playing, Carrot threatened him playfully. “Don’t make me come in there after you.”

“You wouldn’t dare!” Jahmus blurted out in half surprise.

The raccoon fox lowered her voice to a seductive tone. “Try me.”

Delanne’s eyes widened as Carrot stood taking off her robe. “Carrot!” She called out in disbelief. “What are you doing?”

Jahmus could hear the raccoon fox stepping into the tub and scooted as far away as possible but he was already there. “CHRIST!” The word exploding out of him as Carrot sat down in front of him. “You’ve got to be the boldest woman I know!”

Carrot stared at him and gave him two options to consider. “You can turn around and allow me to wash you, or you can scramble out of here butt naked.” She remarked. “Either way you’re exposed, so get over it!”

Ce’Dra was enjoying the rather spontaneous play of the raccoon fox as she laughed out. “Maybe we should jump in after her.”

Delanne wasn’t laughing. “It isn’t funny Ce’Dra.” Her attention turning towards Carrot. “How could you?” The wolf fox’s eyes began to swell up with tears and she turned around and bolted out of the room crying.

Carrot looked up at Ce’Dra apologetically. “I was only playing…I…I didn’t mean…”

The lioness shook her head. “Don’t worry about it sweetie, I think she’s just a little jealous.”

“But…I…” The raccoon fox was lost for words.

Ce’Dra nodded in reply. “I know I’ll go find her.”

Carrot felt saddened as Ce’Dra left her alone in the bath tub with Jahmus. Shamefully, she handed the cold soapy cloth to him. “Here you are Jahmus, I’m sorry.”

Jahmus took hold of the damp cloth and could hear the raccoon fox standing up to leave. Reaching outward, the man grabbed onto Carrot’s knee. “Wait.” He slowly exhaled. “I’m not sure what just happened, but I apologize if I acted out of line.”

Looking down at the human, Carrot slowly sat back down. “It’s nothing you did…we were only playing and I think Delanne got the wrong impression.”

“I don’t understand.” He admitted with a puzzled look as he handed the cloth back to Carrot and turned around so his back faced her.

Soaking the cloth into the water she began to slowly wash his upper back and shoulders. “Delanne fancies you…I think I hurt her feelings when I jumped into the tub with you.”

“I must admit, your customs are far different than my own.” Jahmus replied doing his best to avoid the subject.

Carrot seemed puzzled at the odd answer. “Do you not like females?”

The question gave Jahmus a dumbfounded feeling as he turned his head to face her. “I beg your pardon?”

The raccoon fox smiled at the startled expression the man was wearing. “Well, your response to Delanne fancying you gave me the assumption that you may prefer to perhaps mate with males.”

All prosperity left him as he began laughing out loud. “My dear Carrot, I would sooner use my hand before acquiring the comfort of a male escort.”

Carrot found herself intrigued by the human’s sense of humor as she began to giggle and tease him. “So you do like females after all.” Her paws slipping quietly under the water with the cloth reaching for his…

Jahmus jolted forward hitting his head on the wall then scrambling to sit back up facing the raccoon fox. “You’re the devil with a holy halo is what you are!” He blustered out as his face darkened to an embarrassed colored red.

“Sorry.” Carrot apologized sincerely. “I have an awful habit of being too curious about things.” She scooted herself back keeping herself a respectable distance from the human.

“Curious?” Jahmus asked out sarcastically. “Just control yourself and we’ll get along just fine.”

“I said I was sorry!” She snapped out crossing her arms and looking away from him.

“I was being sarcastic.” Jahmus admitted to her as gently as he could.

Sneering at him in play, she stuck her tongue out at him and then realized the man was blind folded. The raccoon fox began to giggle quietly to herself.

“What’s so funny?” The man asked with good reason.

Carrot smiled at the blinded man. “I stuck my tongue out at you and then realized you were blind.”

“Oh.” Jahmus replied blankly.

There was a long silence between them as they both sat there thinking. After a few moments, Jahmus decided he’d had enough and gave in.

“Are you really that curious about me?” He asked politely.

The raccoon fox had been staring down into the water and looked up to face the human. “Who wouldn’t be, you’re so different.” She admitted in a nervous but friendly voice.

“Very well then.” The human stated as he grabbed the edge of the tub and to Carrot’s surprise stood up exposing himself.

The raccoon fox’s eyes widened as she stared up at the bare naked human standing before her. His entire body was smooth and furless except for the patches of hair in certain places. She could see each form and tone of his muscles and how they moved and flexed as he slowly turned around in a full circle before sitting back down. Carrot was blushing as Jahmus regained his sitting posture.

“Well?” He asked questionably.

“You have a cute butt.” She admitted bashfully and then added. “You have a beautiful body, it’s a shame you’re embarrassed by it.”

The human turned a light red. “Where I come from, only your spouse or lover ever sees you naked.”

“Oh.” She stated silently with understanding. “Are you bonded?” Her words full of curiosity and hopefulness.

Jahmus thought for a second then replied. “No, I’m not bonded.”

The raccoon fox smiled happily, it was the answer she was wanting. “So you’re an optional?” She asked double checking the human’s status.

“I’m not escorting anyone at the moment if that’s what you mean.” He answered carefully.

Carrot’s smile widened. A gorgeous guy like you, I’ll bet you’ll receive lots of flowers on the new moon.” She teased. “If you stay with us long enough.”

“Flowers?” Jahmus asked curiously.

The raccoon fox looked at him with concern. “Do you know anything about us?”

“Enlighten me.” He asked with a strong interest.

Carrot smiled and lathered up the cloth with soap. “Why don’t you turn around so I can wash you, and I’ll tell you.”

To her surprise, Jahmus turned around and scooted closer to her. Smiling happily, she began washing him and told him all she knew about her people, the island and their way of life.
