Any body else a retro gamer?
« on: December 01, 2012, 03:58:41 pm »
I have quite a collection of Gaming systems ( That is still growing). And i Have all the new systems, with there respective titles, my mother writes video game reviews for Digital Noob, so its kind of mandatory we have them. but even so, i'm always drawn back to my glorious NES or SNES and sometimes even the Sega Saturn. i just want to know if anyone else plays these early-er systems?
P.S. as a bonus question, does anyone else despise the Genesis/Nomad, there great in the sense of progress but they just feel sloppy to me.

I miss owning a SNES and Sega system. I grew up with NES. Classic Zelda and Sonic ftw.   :)  I never tried the Nomad. I mostly played with a gameboy black and white.

I was a fan of anything Nintendo or Sega could put out and pretty much bought it as fast as they could make it. My modest games "collection" is actually just a near-complete showcase of everything the two companies made, from the early 80's all the way to present day...

Gaming was a big part of my life I guess. The Genesis definitely got the most play time, even though I snubbed it when it first came out. The N64 got the least workout, partly because it looked and played like  turd, partly because I could only afford like three games for it.

Does THIS answer your question? (Yes, I do have one, no, that one specifically is not mine, yes mine looks a bit uglier)

Anyway, I still play this every couple of days. I own well over 50 GOOD games for it (I weeded out anything that didn't suit my tastes)

And for the N64, before having most of my collection taken by my brother, I had well over 90 GOOD games. I still play that with friends.

I also have a Dreamcast with at least 20 or 30 games, 4 controllers, a keyboard, mouse, two guns.

Nes, I have 2 controllers, 2 guns, one gray and one orange, and about 15 games. I need to expand on this one.
I always appreciate messages :D

I still play SNES games.  <3

Particularly,  i enjoy the old classic snes platformers.  All the mario games (especially surper mario world), the donkey kong country 1 and 2,  and games like run-saber.

Wasn't the American SNES fugly as hell? :D I much prefer the JAP/EU version with its smooth lines and cute skittles-like buttons.

Gah, I've been neglecting older games lately. I think I'll need to do another runthrough of Super Metroid soon! D:

I'm legalyy blind, I can only play old games, and then only slow placed oned.

If I slow that emulator down I can still play things like tetris and bomberman.

I grew up in the Nintendo 64/PlayStation days of gaming. But I'm certainly a retro gamer. I even tried to get my hands on an Atari 2600 once.

Wish I saw this earlier. I still play my old gameboy color and Sega Genesis from time to time, and I've been playing some PSOne games recently, too.
