All loaded up for a big furmeet this afternoon.

Looking for jobs with little luck.
Taking care of dog to see if she improves.
May take a walk later today.
Not much going on here.

Get some yard work done before I go to work. Got a few overgrown things I need to cut back.

Spent a bit of time browsing fursuit maker websites. Wow, what a difference makes.  :o When I first got my husky suit back in 2006, my suit cost $1400. Now when I see prices for a full suit, mainly toony, the prices have skyrocketed to around $3000 to $4000+.  :o Realistic full fursuits are anywhere between $5000 to $10k.  :o

I can't help but wonder what prices will be like in another 5-10 years. If I wanted another fursuit, guess I'd better start playing lottery tickets or looking for a $75,000k a year job.  :(

Catching up on Furtopia.  :)

Also trying to draw a better con-badge.  I stink at this.  :-[\

Yeah... I hate to admit how crazy I went on mine.  But I DO know that I will NOT do that again!
I know for me, if I get another , its plantigrade toony follow-me eyes, minimal padding in 5 finger hands, stuffed animal nose, basic jaw, flexible ears, detachable tail, shortest fur lengths possible, happy disposition, gender neutral, and very unique patterns and colors yet natural and elegant (ha, yeah right) .  And I will not spend over $2500 tops.  Its honestly too much.  If I have time and skill, I will make the next one.

It does seem that some makers are charging what they can, and pushing prices up and up.  And this seems very unfair.  Thus, maybe I make the next one and become a fursuit maker.  :D

I have my doubts you'd find a maker who can do all that without going over $2500. But........anythings possible I guess. $2500 was probably the "norm" for a full fursuit 5-10 years ago. But now.........$3000 or above seems to be the new norm. At least from what I'm seeing anyway.

Just got scheduled to get the last of the electrical damaged fixed. It's a $$$ bill. But I don't complain. I still have my house, all my stuff and nothing smells like smoke.

My CAP unit has expressed interest in entering the Team America Rocketry Challenge next year. Those are basically a fancy egg-lofting contest with goals set on how high the model should fly and/or duration aloft with an on-board altimeter. The egg passenger must recover intact for a qualified flight. Models are custom-built and  may be limited in mass, impulse, and mode of recovery.

Rules for the 2020 competition have yet to be posted. The county in which my CAP squadron resides has already fielded two successful TARC teams from two different high schools. This is a rural/agricultural-oriented county btw.

As some of you know I play three string cigar box guitars. I’ve belonged to forum for people with this hobby for years now. For years there’s been a conflict between me and 90% of the people on that forum. Including the owner/mod. The type of music played on these instruments. Everything blues. Just the blues. Maybe some country but everything the blues. Pegging these real instruments to one style of music. My argument against this is based both in human nature and historical fact. Human nature being you get an instrument to play the songs you like. Songs that are popular. Historical fact. The first recorded song played on a cigar box was ‘Beans’. A popular song in the mid to late 1800’s. Not a blues song. I’ve had posts deleted on this forum. For nothing more than disagreeing with the ‘blues only’ stance. Lots of history between me and this popular idea.

So, I’ve waited a year or two. From the last time I was put down or told I’m wrong. Time to prove my point. What I’ve been up to.

I made a thread on that forum. Displaying 19 different chord sounds. All between open and the fifth fret of an instrument tuned 1,5,8. Standard tuning for a three string guitar. Instead of just showing the chords I displayed them in song style samples. So by the time you played all the different samples given you learn all 19 chord sounds. Never mentioning a single music style. Not a single ‘blues’ style sample given. Wonder how that happened? :)

This thread has been viewed over 140 times now. Good people are learning to play good music. Taking their music to new heights. This thread will always be on the first page of this area of that forum. Because I have so much more I can show. I can keep it there for years. For those of you who figured it out. Yes. I am undermining the blues only idea. In the guise of “ the more you know the more fun you’ll have.” Right under their noses. Letting the creativity of other musicians do it for me.

Moral to this story. Don’t make a RAT mad. :)

Yeah, that seems about right, unfortunately, if one wants to get something not "cookie cutter".

And yet, now that I've signed up, I'm not sure where to go or who to look up.  :-[

I had a nice day on my own today...had sushi and rose milk boba tea for lunch, hauled home my groceries for the next couple of weeks from Target...splurged on a new planner and a Jurassic World comforter (I already had the sheet set)...watching some YouTube, browsing here and then going to either do some art or play more Lego Jurassic World.  8)

Preparing for a job interview.
Stressing out too.  Could be good pay, but I think it comes with some not so fun strings attached.
They really seem to want me, which sounds good  yet they are so eager it seems like maybe I'm stepping into a meat grinder.

May have to work in a not so fun classified environment, which may mean I might work in a locked room, with no access to the outside world 9 to 12 hours per day. No phone, internet, nothing. Been in that situation before, didn't like it.  But I need a job and this is all that has come my way.

If at first you don't succeed, you have the diode backwards, again! -- Me.

Looking forward to hearing good news from the interview Jade.

Been keeping an eye on that cigar box guitar thread I started. For a small forum it's got over 180 reads now. I've already got the second two lessons done. But not uploaded. I'll wait till the interest dies down a bit. Still waiting for the backlash. Odd that it hasn't happened. Usually only takes a few days before the "blues only" crowd comes crashing down on me. There is another reason why I did this. Got tired of hearing people complain. They buy or build a cigar box guitar. Then quickly get board with the limitations placed on these instruments. I belong to a cigar box club that meets once a month in ST Louis. I talk to these folks face to face. Show them a few things and watch them run with it. I've tried this in the past on that forum. Already said what happened. Waiting for that to happen again. Until this thread gets deleted for all the heated arguments against me, nothing I posted, I'll keep it up.

Still working on my (Hopefully) next fursuit design for AC2026.
The design is 98% "locked in" so to speak. Still tweaking the other 2% which I am undecided about. It won't be a husky. Sorry, folks.
