Sometimes, it pays to be in the right place at the right time. ;)
I wasn't planning to go to my local library today, but I made a quick stop just for the hell of it to see what new DVD's were available to check out. Also took a quick look at the "For Sale" section where the library sells off old, used, and/or donated books, music, and DVD's. And what did I happen to find for sale? The complete Season 1 of Game of Thrones on Blu-Ray!  :o  Normally, I'm not a GoT fan/watcher as I never got into the series years ago. But my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to purchase the 5-disc Blu-Ray set.......for $1.00! Yep, you read that right. $1! And the complete set is in very good condition too.

oh man! :D That is awesome. I'm not a fan myself but that is a great find.

I've learned the problem my Marshall Valvestate guitar amp has is fixable! And it's an easy fix. So easy I'll be able to do it myself. I was considering buying a new amp. So here's what i've been dealing with. From the start this amp hums. And it gets really loud if I try to use the reverb. The problem? A design fault from Marshall. The put the reverb tank right next to the power amp. The electro magnetic field from the power amp is interfering with the reverb unit. Usually you would find these large spring reverb units in the speaker cabinets of combo amps. So all I have to do is take it from where it is and relocate it. Looking forward to finally having a humless amp.

First day of the semester. Project #1 assigned (holy wad is it a doozy, too!), and I guess the school actually reviews them as professional analysis (the project is for lowering energy costs for the campus). Apparently they're taking some recommendations from last year. Pretty sweet.

All three reptiles are doing well. Dany was ill a little while ago, potentially seriously, but she has pulled through and is doing well.

Kimba's training is going well also. She's still an anxious dog and doesn't like going on walks but she is getting better.

Rather graphic depictions of primitive hunting, but a lot of special moments as the wolf bonds with the young hunter--including some early examples of typical dog behavior. A surprise  ending.

For a third time this old howler has earned national recognition from Civil Air Patrol's Public Affairs Officer Academy: A Certificate of Merit in the Photograph category. One's unit had to appear in a published photo to qualify. Your humble Prairie Wolf appears in a shot with two cadets from his host squadron. The only such distinction to come back to my home state.

In about a week my BFF and I are taking a big road trip from Texas to Nevada.
No, we're not going to gamble, we're going to see Goodsprings.

Cause Fallout: New Vegas is one of our most favorite games of all times and ever since she found out Goodsprings is a real town she's wanted to see it.

Was pleasantly surprised to find WW2-era Polish Army reenactors at this year's living history encampment.

Much of the small tree limbs saved from my fallen diseased pine tree were donated to the encampment as many of the reenactors have tent stoves. The short baseball bat thick pieces are perfect fuel for the primitive heaters. They would have otherwise gone to a local landfill.

Learned that I may be featured in an upcoming National Association of Rocketry periodical, probably the Member's Guide. Not likely in fursuit though.
