I would strongly advise to everybody not to go and spend any money the next few weeks. At least, not on any "luxury" items so to speak. You may need to save as much as you can in case the government defaults on the debt ceiling. If the government defaults, things could get really bad really fast. Job losses, no pay for the military, no pay for Social Security recipients, and on and on. The Republicans are steadfastly refusing to vote to increase the debt ceiling. They want nothing to do with it whatsoever.
Their "game" is to watch and let the Democrats do all the work, then blame and rip on the Dems for raising the ceiling and "overreaching" the amounts of money the gov't spends and driving up the debt. This is what the Repubs want to happen so they can come back during the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 Presidential election and blame the Dems so that the people will get so angry that they'll vote for Repubs instead. That's how the Repubs want to play things. Sit back, watch, do nothing, watch as the gov't implodes, then blame the Dems, then hit back and play the blame game.

What a screwed up government we have, eh?

The Repubs don't care about what happens to the people so long as they get back and retake the House, Senate, and the White House in 2022 and 2024..........AT WHATEVER THE COST. Even if that "cost" means more homelessness, high unemployment, tanked economy, etc., etc.

What scares me the most, is at some point, money doesn't matter if everything around you crumbles.
So people who have large sums of money, who can they pay to do work for them? Meaning, those underlings they would pay, they need a house, job, food, not paper money or worse, electronic 1,0,1,0's!  At least they could wipe their paws on paper money and melt metal coins into something.  If a rich dude came to me and wanted to pay me money for a car repair, I would laugh at him, and take his food from his house.  I say this because if some people want to cause issues in our economy or at least sit back and not help, they hurt us all, and in the end, they hurt themselves too!

Why does USA have such debt to begin with?  Regardless of political party!
If it was my household, I would have committed suicide over the debt!
Like Michael Jackson said, "if you can't feed a baby, don't have a baby".  Meaning, plan, be responsible!

I will not spend much, I haven't really for last few years.
blah, back to work for me...
