Holiday Cooking!
« on: December 27, 2014, 03:19:28 am »
What kinds of interesting stuff have you made or eaten for the holiday season?  Anything particularly special?

I made some butterscotch fudge, and enjoyed some delicious, feline-themed homemade macaroni and cheese from my cousins on Christmas.  I'm now working my way through a slice of leftover pecan pie. :P

If I had time for holiday baking, I'd do it. But I never do.  :(

Baked a 14 lb turkey stuffed with crustless bread, onions and celery. Then a 13x9 glass pan filled with the overflow dressing and parts of the turkey. Made green been casserole, yams, stir fry veggies  with a thyme oregano butter sauce and buttered corn. Then made a fake plum pudding.

I know what you mean Kobuk. If I wasn't working 12+ hour days and didn't have to work Christmas Eve I'd of baked more too. Nothing like home made cookies and bread. Maybe next year.

My mom makes excellent rum balls.  But she hates making them, so we hardly ever have them.
