Registry cleaning and other things to tidy up.

(1/3) > >>

Old Rabbit:
I had a game program tell me it couldn't run because I had a registry problem.

Any suggestions on a good registry cleaner. I noticed C Cleaner has a new
name, so I don't know what that's about.

So many computer cleaners out there. I really don't want one that adds malware
or other junk to my computer. I have had some tell me a clean install needed
cleaning. Trying to get me to buy it I am sure.. :P

Doc:
What operating system is your computer on?

Old Rabbit:
Thanks for the response Doc.

Windows 7 pro. Is the operating system I am concerned about. Though I do have
Windows 10 on the same computer. No problem noticed with 10 at this time.

I still keep windows 7 because it works better for older software.. The game I had
problems with was "World of Warcraft"  I am using Win 10 for playing it now, and it
works fine. So I am in no hurry.

Doc:
Glad you have a Windows system. I don't know anything about Macintosh OS, or Linux, or just about anything else. Before I upgraded to Windows 10, I occasionally got a registry error in Windows 7. Have you tried defragmenting your hard drive? If you have and it didn't work, try using AVG Anti-Virus to help. I forgot exactly how to do it, because I got rid of AVG a while ago, but that certainly fixed it for me. Hope that helps.

Make sure you do NOT format your drive.

Old Rabbit:
Thanks Doc

I will give all that a try.

I have never cared for Apple computers, they have always been pricey,
and require purchase of their accessories.

I wish the Amiga had not been discontiued. It was the best
overall home usable computer of it's time. 1985. Apple couldn't
touch it for gaming, sound, or graphics. It had plug n play and
muititasking years ahead of the others. But Commodor decided to
stop producing it for some reason. Seems odd as the Amiga was
very popular in Europe. I have heard it was looked down on as
a game machine, and not considered for professional use. At
least here in the USA.. Ironic as a few years later games were
a big use for home computers.(The PC) Even though they were
poor in performace. Oh well that's all history, now games are
in virtual 3d on PC's
