Actually River. If you have been reading his forums, which I am sure you have been, he is very blantant about how he feels about these forums and its staff and in particular me and WS.

I'm not going to argue with you about his inconsiderations. He has been told time and time again to straighten it up and he continuously refuses.

Yes, he has provided good info but his attitude of late is by far more damaging to these forums than his good advice is helping.

He has also pointed it out on his forums that he wishes he had not brought people here to furtopia.

I'm sorry River, but this is one time Midnight Dragon will have to take the consequenses of his own actions. If he is allowed to continue in this fashion that will give free reign to any one else that wants to use the forums to get back at those that hurt their pride instead of just taking the advice from ALL the staff and others here, which Midnight Dragon refuses to do and only strikes back.

That is what led up to his warning mark which was voted unanimously by ALL the staff members. What did MD do? He got on his forums and attacked me and WS.

Enough is enough. We can not allow this type of behaviour to continue.

Don't be sorry Chaz, it's an appropriate post and an appropriate discussion.

Not all furs are unwilling to talk to the media, nor all conventions closed to the media.  Further Confusions does allow media to attend.  They need to submit a request to attend and be escorted, but they are allowed to attend.

I understand telling us if we feel oppressed, we should take any oportunity to get our message out.  On the other hand, I can't speak for a community that I'm not a part of.  I am not part of the Texas fur community and don't know truely how they feel.  I can tell someone how I feel, but that isn't what the reporter is looking for.

Midnight, your posts are blunt.  Blunt posts with what can be perceived as negative comments will cause a defensive reaction from the audience.  That's human nature.  Part of my RL job is to tell people things they don't want to hear.  If I want them to listen to my message without getting defensive, I need to be very tactful in how I say it.  Sometimes I need to be blunt in my job.  But when I am, I know the other party is going to be defensive and angry with me and I am prepared to deal with a negative reaction from them.  Bluntness in my job is reserved for when the client needs an extreme jolt or kick, not as an everyday mode of communication.

The main message here is if your going to be blunt, expect a negative reaction.  If you want people to listen to the message than temper it with some tact.  You have some valid points, they are just getting lost in the delivery.

Chaz, don't be sorry for starting a topic you thought interesting. What has transpired has nothing to do with you and the topic you started.

Chaz, don't be sorry for posting a topic which got people going and started people thinking.  Ruffled feathers and puffed out chests aren't a bad thing when the topic is constructive and provides an avenue of thought.

I LIKE topics which make people actually use their minds and debate things using examples and experiences.  Thinking is what keeps the creative juices going, in my opinion.   No offense to anyone starting topics on school or polls about favorite color or something similar, but those topics don't yield the same kind of passionate remarks and continued conversation mixed with actual thoughts.  To me, the answers given for that kind of topic are similar to a quickly filled out customer appreciation card at a business.  You fill it out mechanically and hand it over, never really giving much thought to it later.  Whereas a topic which inspires passionate debate gets the blood pumping and reminds you that you are alive (in comparison).

And besides, something discussed which could help the community of furs is always worth the effort.  If nothing else, it gets ideas circulating publically which otherwise might have remained in the dark recesses of people's minds, comments they were awkward about saying or thoughts they were unsure of prior.  Sometimes all a person needs is that little push or nudge in the thought direction to get themselves going or to gain enough confidence to do something they thought of before but never thought of actually DOING.

Anyhow, Drake, what is your job?  You have me curious as to what you do from the comments you made in your post.  I have watched when you have posted before and always liked the way you phrased thing and the tact you have used.

Thank you for the compliment River.

I am a project manager at a consulting firm for software development and testing efforts.  I interface with clients on a daily basis and often need to help them improve their internal processes or give them an honest assessment of where they are today.  Basically I'm the technical department's face to our clients.
