AUGH. x.x

...I am a fox. You know it, I know it, my vulpinity (did I just make that word up?) is pretty apparent.

But, I'm in trouble here.

I make it a point to be different. The idea of being the same as a large group of people is very frightening to me. ...BUT I'M A FOX. Like, 147% of the fandom is vulpine! And I hate that. x.x

I wanna jump up and scream, "GAH! FURRES, BE DIFFERENT! BE UNIQUE! BE YOURSELVES!" But then I realize that they ARE... Theyre being themselves, and so am I, yet we're the same species... This bugs me to no end. Ive even debated "changing" species over it. But I cant do that! I'm vulpine through and through! X_@  D: I've even got all these nutty, foxy spiritual beliefs...

Someone help me. Give me some insight here, please... @_@;;;

*pounces Nok* calm down! The fact that there are other vulpines is there, lots of people think they have foxish tendancies just think of it as an extended family. I do that with all furs '<img'>

Pets the nice nok fox. Theres different types of foxies. Some types of foxies arent even from earth. arth foxies, alien world foxies. Diff versions of foxies both earthling & otherwise. So, its not like your the same as the rest of the herds of foxes. Wanna carrot wit blood sauce dip? Anyway, what kinda fox are you? Is ok if its the most common type of earth fox. Theres plenty of other galaxies and worlds out there. Some of which may have some sort of fox type critter. Just think how unusual & fascinating you'd be to those foxies!

Offers Nok fox a nice little soft paw band that indicates isnt your average fox, cause after all is a nok fox which is a kewl and unusual one. Even if looks much like regular fox. Pets the fox again with fluffy bunny paw.

Enjoy living.

there are alot of foxes.. but all of the foxes i have talked to have special features that make them unique.. i know foxes with difrent coat colors,  multiple tails, coat patterns and even one with tiger stripes on his tail..

i had a problem when figureing out my furrie identity.. im feline but im not all big cat and not all house cat so i made a comprimse.. half calico house cat half panther.. so rember if you feel and tug toward any other kind of creature you can always be a half and half or mix breed...
most of all dont worry about the rest of the fandom..
be who you are  . if you do that then you will always be unique.
never trust a smileing cat *grin*

You think FOXES are popular? Try being a wolf. I met more wolves than foxes :P

Of course, sub species variations make things easier, I've met only one arctic wolf besides myself '<img'> (note: there's a difference between a white wolf and an arctic wolf)

As for foxes...there are kitsunes, there are foxes from earth, there are all sorts '<img'>

Like the others said.. find youself in the fur. Ive seen alot of foxes (was raised in alaska, they come in all colors there) and each has been different. Ive always been Equine. not having a species change, but there are alot of equines. So i simply became striped. Only ever have seen one Anthro Zorse and he was just a pic.
I will add this the most unusual living fox Ive seen was called an Amber Marble. She was white with a deep amber strip down her back,Amber ears and several amber patches along her flanks.

A lot of humans dye their hair different colors to be different from others.  Your fursona can do the same. '<img'>  You can be any bizarre, wacky mix of colors you want to be.

Hmm...I dont think you should worry about it. As long as foxes are what you like...you should just stick to that. Although...having 4940575897489 other people the same species as you...can be kinda annoying o.o'

Heh, I used to be a fox, but I never really was much of one. 2 or so years ago, I became a coyote, after ditching the whole hybrid idea. Now, there are like, none of me. None that I still know, anyway, all the coyotes leave. :P But, yeah, there are a crap load of foxes out there, but if you know you are one, than why not be one, eh? Or you could always throw some sort of twist in there to be original, like an odd fur color, or a hybrid, or maybe a few extra tails (ok, they've all been done a million times over). Hmm... coyotes are almost like foxes, except a bit more annoying. :P

X)

I dont think Im gonna change any colors or anything. =P If Im gonna be a fox, Im gonna be as vulpine as I can... That means having NATURAL colors. ^^; I just feel better seeming natural (key word:SEEMING XP), and Id rather not screw it up with freaky colors or extra appendages. I might dye my hair IRL, though, so that means a character change, too. =) I dont HAVE a fursona, I AM my fursona, if y'know what I mean. Nok IS me. Same body structure, same hair, same clothes, same personality, same EVERYTHING, down to the most minute detail. To me, furry's not an escape from reality, it IS reality. ;3

I really dont think a lot of that had anything to do with the topic, but oh, well. XP

But, overall, y'all are right... One should pay attention to his own species, and if I change, it changes... I dont change because of what other people do.

But, back on the topic of freaky colors, I might dye my hair green. o.O And, if I can find it, not a bright, neon green, but something darker. A more natural green hair color, if that makes any sense at all. >>;

'<img'>   Well, in researching, there are about 13 or so varieties of Kitsune, 0.o  I *think* I might be a Void kitsune, but I'm still researching exactly what I am.....

But yea, I feel your pain....there are a LOT of foxes out there.  Though I haven't met many that are as specifically kitsune as I am.

But anyhow "Hugs* Do you have a Hot Topic or Sally's Beauty Supply where you live?  They have quite the selections of hair dyes, and I'm almost sure I saw a darker green....

Not 'conspiracies'. 'Conspiracy.' Singular.

Well, of course we've got a Hot Topic. =P This is the US, and we've got a mall or three in Austin, so... Yeah. XP

My mom tried to dye my hair dark red last night... That would look really strange on me. >>

Now, I dont mind this thread going off topic, but wont the SysAdmins have a cow?

<--- Yep, I'm a Foxie. A fennec fox, as you can see.

I'm pretty much natural, Little in the way of colouration, and no collar for certain. My fursona is  unclothed most of the time, and if he were wearing anything then it would only be a T-shirt or shirt, and nothing else '<img'> (probably a thinkgeek one, but that's a different matter)

Anway, the point of this is that not being too individual over many others does not particularly bother me, and any resentment that it may cause is made up by the knowledge that I am being true to myself. No, the fennec is not my favourite animal, but it certainly feels the most right.
- The Tea AddictYes, it's a Weebl and Bob version of myself.

Oh, dont get the wrong idea! I would only wear a collar IRL, because I think theyre just amazingly adorable/sexy (mix of both!'<img'>, but Nok would never wear one! Or rather, my 'morphic self, really, I dont consider them separate entities...

Honestly, I would have though most furries would have turned out to be cat people when I first got involved.

But it turns out I think Nok is right.  There's a lot of foxes in the furry world.  I think being small, cute, and helpless is a way of life for a lot of people.

But don't just be a fox, be your kinda of fox.  Be the kinda fox that only Nok can be.  Be small, be cute, be helpless, be eaten by a bigger furry.

I just want to add that what makes you unique and special; what makes you you, is not what you are, but *who* you are. And ultimately that is the most important thing.

We're all human, after all (no matter how much some people try to deny it) but that doesn't mean we're all identical. So there may be a lot of other furry foxes out there, but that doesn't make *you* any less of an individual.

Aw.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I used to be fully feline.  It used to bother me that about half of the fandom is feline... so I did someting about it.  I didn't quite change species, but I did alter it a little.

Now I'm part cow, part leopard.

And I'm telling you, it feels great to be unique!  There's nothing wrong with mixing a fox species with another unrelated species.  Mix and match until you get something that looks and feels good.

Well, it doesn't help when other furries jump on your case for NOT being something canine or feline, I'm sure.

I knew a girl in school who wanted to be a squid when she first found out from me about furry, and some people got on her about it, so she just totally backed off from all of it.

Its nice to be on your own sometimes and unique. But sometimes its nicer to have a few more around as well though.
