It started when I was young. I always liked TMNT and I watched a lot of other cartoons that had animal characters. A lot of the time I would pretend I was an animal as well. Later when I got a Sega Genisis, I played a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog and some other games that had to do with animals like Ecco the Dolphin. When it came to movies, I always liked whatever characters looked the least human (werewolves, predator, etc.) more than the humans because I thought they looked cool. As I got older, I became interested in different mythologies and religions like Hinduism, Roman and Greek mythologies, and Ancient Egyption gods because they had creatures and gods that were animal influenced. I got interested in some RPG video games later and the main factor in wheather or not I liked the game was if there were non-human characters (perferably furries though I didn't know the term at the time) in it. I did a lot of drawing over the years as well, and now that I think back, my drawings were almost always animal influenced. In fact, it was almost impossible for me to draw humans. The final real video game influence came from one called Bloody Roar. It was a fighting game where the characters had the ability to turn into annimal type forms like a wolf, rabbit, tiger, etc. After that, I was on the internet looking for picks of skunks on google because I thought skunks were cool. In my search I saw a couple drawings of anthropomorphic female skunks in bathing suits and became intrigued. I cliked on them, and they brought me to two different pages on VCL. I looked through the drawings on the pages and thought that the creatures (still didn't know what furries were) in the drawings looked interesting. After looking at a fair amount of art on VCL, I saw a good number of references to furnation. I went to that site and noticed the news bar in the corner. I followed a link to a site called furbox.org which was a fur forum. That was where I learned about the furry fandom and that I was in it.
