So Richard Branson went up in his Virgin Galactic rocket plane on Sunday.
Big deal. Whoop-de-doo. :P
Just another billionaire boy with gobs of money playing with expensive toys. I'll be happy when average people like you and me get to someday go up to space. But it seems right now that only the filthy rich have the option. I'm not too excited or thrilled or enthused about the push for "space tourism" right now. Until Richard Branson dons a spacesuit and does a zero g walk or flies to the International Space Station, etc., then I wouldn't count him as being any sort of astronaut or hero. What he did on Sunday is "nice". But I see it as just a publicity stunt. Nothing more.

Unfortunately right now the only people who can help pay for the gas to get up there are the over the top rich.

And these people and the flights to space do not further our understand of much. We have been there done that.
Now if Branson had a levitating craft, yeah, money well spent. But he don't!
Space-X has vertical take off and landing reusable craft. So did NASA, right? Just fund NASA, WE all benefit. Mars rovers anyone? Now that is something! Or landing OsirusRex on Bennuu.
Every time I see Jeff Bezos and Branson, I think of a stereotypical evil genius from James Bond or a parody thereof.
And Tesla launching a junk car into space? why...
Ham radio groups launched functional satellites, come on guys...

I wish I was that rich. Dad and I could could get a nice big house with a huge yard in a nice neighborhood. I could get a pet Wallaby, get a quad-suit and so many more things!
