Amber Eyes

The mist cleared as a figure moved forward,
Amber eyes piercing the gloom,
Its muscles flexing as it walks along,
In mid Transformation.

The sensation and thrill of the change,
The knowledge that at any time it may altar its form,
It may walk among humans,
It may stalk among wolves.

A creature in-between two worlds,
Able to smell anothers fear,
Able to act upon an impulse
To have the power over another creature.

To run through the darkness,
To have the light of a silvery moon upon black fur,
To howl down the night and tell the stories of fallen kin,
To walk amongst them.

To tread the path of one who is another,
To see anothers world with their eyes,
To walk down a street,
To run in a forest.

To feel the press of a warm body against another,
To feel the loss of a loved one to a gun,
To feel the burning desire for a female,
To feel the fresh dew.

To drink from a pure mountain stream,
To see the sun rise and set,
To watch the rain trickle down,
To watch the sun break through the cloud.
.
To see generations die and be replaced,
To look upon ruined buildings that were once proud and strong but weathered over time,
To feel the strength of another inside.

To be neither one nor the other,
To scream with pain,
To watch the blood flow from a friend,
To die and not to have won the battle but to have never lost the war.
"You can train a dog with food, buy a man with money but no man alive can tame a wolf."

After reading your other posts about your confusion and then reading this poem, you actually seem to have a wolf fursona inside that is acking to get out and be. There is nothing wrong with being both at times. A wolf. A human. They are definitely interchangeable.

Great poem by the way! If you have more, feel free to post them.
