This is just something I wrote recently. It's a little grim but I decided to post it anyways.

The night is cold yet my heart beats on, weary in this desperate rain.
"They shan't take me" or so was thought, thought through with desperate vain.
The night is dark yet I still breathe, aching with the weight of life. "My world is here" or so was said, said in innocent blithe.
The night holds terrors yet I still see, all that my eyes can reckon. "The voices lie" or so was hoped, hoped as the temptation beckoned.
The night is grim yet I still dream, my mind filled with other worlds. "I'll never die" or so I wished, wished 'til my heart unfurled.
The night is cold, dark, terrible and grim yet I am alive. "I'll find a way" and that I knew, knew it 'till I died.
