New Archive forum.

In forthcoming days and/or weeks, Members will gradually see a new "Archive" forum down in The Basement section near the Test Lab forum. This new forum is still undergoing testing and is not quite operational yet by the staff. It will be a place for archiving old and disused subjects. This forum will be readable only. As the staff finish preparing this forum in forthcoming days and weeks, we will update the members in this thread on further functions and purposes of this new forum. Until then, we have a bit more testing to do.

I think this is a great idea !

I've spent hours looking at threads from years ago. It's nice to see that we'll finally have a place to put all of that stuff.

(Also so I won't feel so lonely when I walk through the old halls and empty stairways of furtopia.)

C'mon Shim, you don't like the creepy apocalyptic feel of creeping through the old, dissused sections of Furtopia?

I find it thrilling myself. Sneaking around in there, always wondering if you'll be confronted by something around the corner.

Update!

For the last few days, Myself and other members of the staff have been working to create an archive forum located here:

What is this all about you might be wondering? Well, it's about "house cleaning" so to speak. For months and years, many members have asked for their own artist sub-forum to discuss and show off their works, and/or they asked for a community type forum to discuss specialised topics. Unfortuneately as the years went by, these various forums have become disused and nobody posts in them anymore. Therefor, it has been decided by the staff to move a lot of these various forums into an archive area. This archive area is "readable only". If everything has been done right, then nothing will be able to be posted in and replied to in those forums. Why create an archive area and keep such old forums when instead they could be deleted if nobody uses them? Well, we are keeping them for "historical/reference purposes". Another reason is that at some future time, Perhaps a member may wish to have one of the forums brought "out of storage" and might wish to revive it.

It's possible that some forums could be reused again in the future and/or that members may wish to ask for and create new forums to discuss stuff. But before that can happen, the staff are currently discussing new guidelines and rules for sub-forum creation. When we are done, then we will post another update here in future days or weeks.

Also at this time, for those members who currently have Adult forum access, We have also created an adult archive section to archive artist sub-forums that have or had past adult content.

At this time, the staff do not currently intend to archive individual threads from various forums. Our goal right now is the cleaning up and archiving of various disused sub-forums.

So if something ends up in the archives I guEss it's safe to say that a new topic thread can be made for that subject when it wants to be discussed again?

We're not planning to put individual threads in the archive at the moment. However, if that did happen in the future, then I'd assume so.

Again, the archive is more as a place for disused sub-forums right now. It's a way to clean up the site and hopefully make all sections of the forum more active
