Does anypony here read MLP FanFics? I was not into Fan Fics for the longest time, after high school I got into this snobbish kind of attitude where I didn't want to read anything that wasn't offical canon.

*snob voice* "No no writer, I care not for your stories or your creative talent! It it not canon so I shall not deign to look upon your writings. I do not care if your story fits into the storyline 1000x better, you were not paid to write it into canon so its nothing to me!"

Yeah, dumb I know.

But in the past year I've been getting back into it and especially with the ponies. There are some good stories out there that are well written, funny and in the case of shipping, romantic.

Yes, I like SOME shipping fics. But I'm picky about them.

So if you enjoy fan fics talk about your favorites here and feel free to put up links to the ones you like so we can all enjoy.

Not a big Fan Fic reader here. I've read perhaps one completely and skimmed through a couple, but just didn't catch onto it yet. I'd rather play an MMO RPG which is basically like a 3D version of a never ending Fan Fic.

Huge pony fanfic reader here! I won't read most fanfic since it tends to destroy the consistency of a given world/universe, but for MLP I gave in and started reading some of the higher-rated fics posted on EqD.  I really enjoy the ones that avoid messing with canon, though there are times when I can put my OCD tendencies aside and just enjoy a story for what it is.   Characterization normally isn't too much of a sticking point for me, but I hate it when authors project their own desires onto the characters, or give characters desires that never came up in the show.  For this reason I'm actually OK with OC ponies more than most people.  Some fics with OCs that I'm enjoying are A New Breed and Antipodes.

I'm not much in to reading the fics, but I enjoy the Friendship is Madness podcast where they read fics and add their own funny commentary. My favorites would have to be Spiderses and Dear Idiot. Both short, sweet, and funny in their own right.

So I broke down and started writing fan fiction of ponies. I'm not great and I can't do HTML to save my life so areas that needed to be centered and bold aren't.

I just finished reading "Order from Chaos" and I gotta say thatt it was probably the best Sonic/MLP cross over work ever.
