The Furry Spirit
« on: July 02, 2003, 12:33:27 am »
I had this poem in my little section on the forum, but it did not get much traffic, so i thought i would post it here and share it again.

The Furry Spirit

The drive inside each of us
Is deep within our souls
We have to fight to uncover it
and give strength to achieve our goals.

With each battle we face
the strength inside us grows
to slowly reach the point in life
Where our furry spirit shows.

Everyone can reach the point
but not with fate alone
We have to strive, take right and fall
We have to hold our own.

There are no answers written in ink
or secrets waiting to be told
We have to find out on our own
as the story of our life unfolds.

And as we look back over our lives
and the struggles we have overcome
we will feel that drive deep inside
That helps us to be what we have become.

Very nice, Babytiger. Really embodies the struggle that so many face in life.
Life? Ha, the greatest joke. Tis surely proof that God has a sense of humor, all be it a sadistic one.

well written babytiger, its nice to see something uplifting, fighting adversity and overcoming it, instead of letting it break your spirit as many have written about *cough*guilty*cough*. it belongs on a motivational poster, under a picture of a white tiger perched on a cliff overlooking a great forest, course thats just my opinion, i could be wrong.

btw and totaly unrelated, your job sounds awsome, i envy you.
Or i could be wrong, its been known to happen,     a lot,       (headhang and sigh).

Nobu" means "faith", "trust" and "fiedelity". "naga" is the kanji for "long".

This poem is so very true of life, BabyTiger! Great job.

I used to tell my son that no matter what he can always ask a question. No matter what it is dealing with. Jobs, friends etc. He used to be afraid of being rejected when he was young and I would tell him that even if someone said "No" to his question, it was only a word. Make that word your starting point and go on from there and don't fall back.

Starting my own business years back when he was young I knew the feeling of being told 'no'. I could have just given up and went with the flow but being told 'no' just made me more determined to succeed where those thought I would fail.

And you know what? I did succeed!

I think when we are faced with a road block, or something so huge that we can't see how to get over it or around it, it is a test of ourselves. In my life, I have found that there is NO blockage in my way, just puzzles that need solving to proceed. I take a step back from what looks unpassable and comtemplate on it for a couple days and believe it or not, there IS always a way around things! We just have to find those secret passages.
