IRC problem

I hope I am putting this in the right forum.. If not sorry, please move it Cx

Uh, so I am having issues with the IRC. I was able to get in once, and downloaded Java.. but now it won't let me in at all. When I try and go in, I get another window that goes white, with the Java sign. I left that open for over 15 minutes, and it was still loading.. Does anyone know what's going on?

I don't know much about the IRC webclient they use here,   but can you provide a bit more information for when someone who does?

What web-browser are you using?
What Version of that browser? (you can find this by clicking on: Help > About.  Look for the version number)
What version of Java do you have installed?



Another Alternative is downloading and installing a standalone client,  I recomend this one.

Once installed,  you will want to make a "new server."

Host: Irc.furtopia.org
Port: 6007

I'm using Safari.. As for the other two questions, I am not so sure xC

Ah.   See,  this is where my experience completely ends.  I don't know much about using MacOSes  If you want to use the web-client,  all i can suggest is that you:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of safari: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

2. Make sure you have latest version of Java: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_mac.xml


If you're willing to install Firefox,  There's an add-on you can get called, "ChatZilla," which works great on a mac.

1. Download: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/mozillafirefox.html
2. Install
3. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chatzilla/ Download / install

I just updated my computer this morning, including Java.. it still doesn't work, so I am trying to figure it out..

As for firefox, I can't download it because there isn't enough room on my computer currently

Okay,  try this while in safari.

click:

-Safari
-Preferences
-Security

Make sure Plug-ins,  Java, And JavaScript are all checked and enabled.  This is hard to troubleshoot as i am a windows user and avoid macs like the plague.

Arg... I just did that.. Java is installed and everything is what it should be.. But the IRC still doesn't work xC

Try going through a website called mibbit. A few people have done that in the past.
