There were a few skull dogs at the convention I went to last year.
Were kinda neat.  The girl who was one  was so fun,  the scary aspect of the skull was lost on me and others.  She started carrying a sign that said " I'm not cute".

Well, the design (and name) for my next suit may have just been sunk.   *ears droop*
I saw on DeviantArt a person's fursona sketch of exactly (or almost exactly) the same thing I had planned. Though their sketch was from 2017 or so. The similarity between their design and mine is like 90% to 95%.

Skull dogs are just simply dogs or other animals that show their skull. I have some skull animals. Jester(The skull dog) Blossom, a possum, three windigo, and a skull kitten.

I haven't completely given up. At least, not yet. I'm still trying to hold out some hope. It just means that I'm going to have to be a bit more creative in my design. But how, I don't know when the design is already 100% finalized and I don't want to change it anymore.
Other than the coronavirus and the economy getting in the way, there's a few other roadblocks like:
a) I have nobody near me to help with creating a duct tape dummy.
b) I don't know of any furs in my area. No groups, meets, etc. Nobody to ask questions, get help, etc.
c) I have no idea who I'll choose to make the suit. I've been "out of the loop" so to speak on keeping up to date with fursuit knowledge, fursuit makers, etc.

1. Primary fursuit that I've been hinting about throughout this thread is now on the "back burner" so to speak. Design is 100% finalized though.

2. Plans for a secondary Kobuk 2.0 fursuit are moving along at a snail's pace. Realllllly slow.  Don't have much of anything figured out for a design.

3. 3rd design is for a wolf suit. But the trick is finding if the faux fur exists for the main color I have in mind. The secondary color for additional highlights would be like a silver. Name of character is figured out. Suit might be digitigrade, but not sure? Possibly a 50/50 toony/semi-real mix.

So..........still hoping for #1.
If #1 doesn't work, then move on to #3.
#2 is the last option I'll consider.

 Meetup app might turn up some furry clubs near you for the dtd help. Etc.

After I did one... yes... by myself...i seriously do not recommend it. I became stuck and had an emergency.  I fell down, unable to move, but was able to wiggle to get scissors.  I cut myself out.  I almost passed out.  Never again!!

Seriously, do you have someone you trust enough to have make a dtd??  I just up and told my neighbor lady that I needed help.   I told her I was going to be at a renaissance faire as an animal,  and I needed a form.

Turns out my neighbor used to do cos play costume making!! Thus she knew what a duct tape dummy was,  she just called it a custom fit dress makers dummy.  She did it all in 4 hours with measurements.  She guessed it was for furry. Ya know for a 72 year old lady,  she knew things that I didn't expect her to ( like furry). But then again she also made costumes for strippers, so, maybe she knew more than I did about underground culture stuff?


 Hey,  I'd do it for you,  but I'm here... sorry.  But seriously,  if you ask,  you might get someone who can help, although not a fur. once that dtd is done,  you are set!

Clockwork Creature is nice, but they are wayyyyyyyyyy expensive. Probably need a winning lottery ticket just to afford them. And No, I wouldn't have the Kobuk 2.0 suit made by them. The wolf suit, maybe.

I saw many suits at my one and only convention.  I loved them all.  I think sometimes there is too much focus on everything being 100% original.   In human world,  there are people who dress similar,  look similar,  sounds similar,  drive similar cars. I say that because you mentioned how what you wanted was already done.   So do it,  make it different enough,  then get it made!!

I bet a great way to look more "original" is simply to accessorize!

You could use a back pack that is a can of dew.
A prop that signifies something about you. Hats, ties,  harnesses, 

I saw a very cute simple white wolfress and, well,  I'll just say I wish I could have taken her home..

Kobuk, I was slightly joking.  It would be cool to do a go-fund-me.  But how could we do it?  I do not know how to start one, nor how to link it to you IRL.  I mean, what would happen if there was a go-fund-me page for "Guy needs new husky fursuit". 
Nope, I won't do anything.

A few times, I wanted to send furs here some greeting cards, like Christmas cards etc, physical ones, but there was never a way.
So I can't even buy you a suit and ship it to you.

Years ago I belonged to a Christmas forum. We sent each other cards every year. Privet messages where used to share addresses. Sending out 50 or so cards was kinda expensive. But getting about that many cards was nice.
