Russano cursed. He couldn't get ahold of anyone that had been in that forum. He cursed again. He thought it was a longshot, but he sent an Email to the seemingly unreachable people saying "If you get this, contact Alakazaam4444@aim.com IMMEDIATELY."

Having reinforced the seemingly only connection to others like him, he signed off aol but kept his aim account open. He set his cell phone to send him his IMs, then did what he always did to relieve stress: Go out in the woods and work on his kendo forms.

Russano arrived at one of his favorite clearings in the woods near his NC house. It was calm and cool, but still gave him plenty of time to see anyone sneaking up on him. He began practicing Form One of his Shen-shi-ra style, and as he did so, he thought he heard something creeping around in the bushes.

Kale relaxed into the hay and listened intently "I think that theyve gone... at least i cant feel them." He shivered, remebering the feeling of anger and hatred that had poured off them. "and i hope i dont have to feel that ever again"

Dark looked at Kale puzzled.
"Feel them?"
Than as he thought back he realised that, he too, had felt the anger and hatered and the fear.
Kale still looked exhusted, so he decided not to ask too many questions.
"Hey, you better get some shut eye, I'll keep watch."

Kale smiled "thanks man, its been a long couple of days, ive been too exposed to sleep during the day, and too scared to let my guard down at night" with that he put his head down and drifted off to sleep

Kale slept for several dremless hours and finally woke up, he looked at beyond blearily and yawned, he coiuldt feel the hatered, he felt safe "I think its safe to go, i dont think its far to that cottage my dads lent to us"

"I'm ready when you are" replied Dark.
"Oh here" he handed Kale a chocolate bar. "Snuck round the back of that corner shop a couple of minutes down the road and stole a couple of these from the delivery van. It ain't I'm afraid"
Opening his own, he followed Kale to the hole in the wall.

Kale smiled "thanks" and ducked through the hole, taking a bite out of the chocolate bar and smiling, he led the way through the fields, pointing out the large cottage as it came into view
"well, its not much, but its gonna be home for a while, at least until we can figure out whats happening"

Dark nodded, looking around, making sure they weren't being followed.
"I hope there are beds in there! I'm shattered! Its your turn to keep watch!" he laughed.

Kale laughed a little too, leading the way down the path to the house and locating the keys, which were in a fake flowerpot "heh, its just gonna be good to get back into a house again"

Dark stopped Kale just as he was about to put the key in the door.
"You sure this is OK? There is something not right."
He didn't know what or where, but something was playing at his mind

And he collapsed on a bed and fell asleep.

Kale smiled, locking the door, he grabbed a bit to eat, and logged onto the computer, leaving a message. "contact me, we have reacched a safe haven and i can stay online for a while" He sat back and waited, sipping cup of coffee

Kale waited for severalhours before finally dropping off at the pc screen, again he did not dream at all. he awoke several hours later, and with still no notes on the forums he left to go swimming in the pool out of the back of the cottage, it was small, but he needed to relax and think things over. what was that dream about, shadows... ive seen them before he thought as he floated on his back in the water in those things that chased us, and in the deepest and darkest of nights, whenive been alone and angry... but what are they? He continued to stare at the clouds thoughtfully, waiting for an answer to come to him

He sat there for a few minutes before sniffing the air, they were back. He slid over to the edge of the pool and crept along the wall around the edge of the garden following his nose , until he saw them. and they saw him. He looked around danm, all alone and nowhere to run Got up and charged headlong into the shorter of the two, It was like hitting a brick wall, he fell back, slightly dazed, feeling the anger building behind his eyes, he wanted them away from him, but he needed help.

Dallas stood on the deck of the small boat as it sailed towards his destination. He was wrapped tightly in a long coat and hat parting gifts along with the boat. They hid his face and tail from view.
He removed the hat to uncover his ears also stuffed under it. It'd take a few hours to reach his destination he went to the cabin and fell asleep hoping the boat would hold course.

Matt woke up, drowsy. He groaned as he rubbed his pounding head and opened his eyes. This was not his room he woke up in. It was brighter and the smell was awful. He waited for a bit while his eyes adjusted to the light and looked around. There were many beds around him and many other people laid in them, some with families by their side, but there was no family beside Matt. He realised where he was. A hospital. He sat up in his bed and felt something brush against his leg. He jumped a bit and lifted up the bed covers to reveal something he had not seen before, he had a tail, covered with golden fur and in shock he hid it quickly. What had happened to him, he could not remember a thing. As he continued to look around he noticed other things about the people in the room, the patients didn't seem, right. Some had whiskers, some had fur on their face and others had jaws that could crush bones easily. This clearly wasn't a hospital. Someone had been messing with him. Messing with him inside, how they managed to get a tail on him he didn't know, but he had to get out before they did anything else to him...

The sound of the door closeing woke Dark from one of the deepest sleeps of his life. He went to the window in the room in which he was sleeping through which he could see Kale sitting in the swimming pool.
He's taking a bit of a risk... he thought. Ah well
Going into the kitchen he found a tub of Coca and begin to prepare a mug when a wave of dizziness and pain washed over him.
"What the..?"
He thought for a second, the last time he felt like this it was when Kale was being chased.
"Kale!"
Dark ran to the back door to see two men standing over Kale.

Kale fell backwards, cornered, he put his hands out, acting on instinct, he closed his eyes and felt something travel sown his arms and into the men, he saw searing light against his eyebrows and felt something leaving, runnning, from the men. when he opened them, the two were on the floor, and the aura of menace was gone...

As Dark ran from the house he was almost blinded by the light. He turned away and almost fell. He could still see the light through his closed eyelids.
When the lighted faded to darkness he opened his eyes to see the men lying on the floor.
"Kale," he whispered. "What happened?"

Matt started to panic slightly, and was really confused, he wanted to know more, but he didn't want to stay to find out. His clothes were beside his bed on an empty chair, where a family member would've sat, but he didn't even remember if he has a family. The wierd machines bleeped as he slipped his jeans and t-shirt on and he grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair and went to leave. His tail was dragging behind him and he had to find a way to hide it, he tied it around his waist and wrote a note and left it on his bed.

I don't know what the hell you did to me, but leave me alone

He walked hastily out of the room and followed any signs he could focus on to reach the exit, he put the hood on his jacket up and walked right past the security guard and into the street...
