*Chuckles*  I wouldn't say this is bad, just cute.  My wife and I will often meow as a response to something.  It's become such a habit that I've actually caught myself saying meow to people at work at times.

hmm bad habits. . . I catch myself scratch wildly behind the ear a lot. I think that would count as a bad habit. . . I've accidentally done it in public, and well. . . People started staring at me.

I... growl.  Someone annoys and/or angers me, I growl out them.  Not like saying, "grr," but more from the throat; people often make a connection to animals when I do so.  Also, when I catch a scent, I lift my head into the air and sniff.  That's all I can think of.

I am, much like every animal I've ever met, indifferent to religion, those social taboos having nothing to do either with direct impact on the senses or my fellow creatures suffering unecessarily,  clothing and fashion, and television sets. When people insist on trying to talk to me about these things, I don't try and hide the fact that I'm ignoring them.

Well, okay, unless it's a female I'm interested in. AS IF I wouldn't beg at the table. ^_^

I have a Bad Habit on sneaking up on my friends and Scaring them even though I don't intend to do so.  For example: I would walk up beside then we would not say anything (Because I Figure they are aware that I'm right beside them)  until they look to there side and freak out and say "WHOA! How long have you been there, jezz you gotta stop doing that". And Ill say" Ive been here for 12 seconds-don't tell me you haven't notice Ive been here all this time"

Hence the reason they gave me a nickname of "white shadow"

I gave myself  the nickname "Tigerboy" for my love for tigers and the way Tigers hunt down there pray, Kinda like what I do as a bad habit. (:

I used to. Back in elementary school, I would roar and growl at people who made me mad. I quit doing it because of the reactions I would get from it. The school councilor also had to talk to me about it. She said to quit because I'm a human, not an animal.

There's one habit I have to constantly be on guard against because a furry I live with does it all the time and it's real easy to pick up the habit without meaning to.
This habit is to accuse any furry who doesn't behave as you personally believe they should of not being their furry species. So, like, if some dog furry doesn't do what you want you lash out with a "I guess your not a dog then 'cause a dog would be more loyal" or whatever.
It's a very hateful, manipulative, and all round awful thing to say, but I hear it all the time so occasionally I slip and do it too. It's a terrible habit, really.

I tend to unintentionally sneak up to people and scare the bejeezus out of them, too. That drives my mate crazy. Also I get this strong urge to chase anything that runs from me. I also reflexively yelp when I get hurt. It can get pretty embarrasing in the workplace

I'm constantly trying to figure out what others would be like as a furry. I guess that's bad, because you shouldn't label others. Let 'em pick their species, or if they even want to be a furry. You can't make choices for others about that.

I have a huge slew of bad habits

distinctly rat-like:
--> I chew on non-edible things whenever the opportunity presents its self
--> I squeal and bite when startled
--> I sleep at horrible hours
--> I graze eat all day
--> I am very untrustworthy of all new food products and I must smell them, nibble them, and wait a few minutes to see if it is okay before I chow down
--> I have an odd tendency to stash things I find while walking (bottle caps, soda tabs, broken pens, ect.) in a specific drawer in my room

general:
--> I look at people and pick out all their animal-like traits
--> I gravitate towards people with animal like facial features
--> I refuse to be someones friend if they don't like rats or animals in general

I think that covers all the bad ones...

Ive shared some of the bad habits other people seem to have. What is interesting is that i had these bad habits before i ever considered myself a fur, but now that I am, it is just kind of ironic.

--I find myself staring at shiny things occasionally.
--I growl at people when they make me angry

I just think it is somewhat interesting that i had these habits before i was even a fur.

I headbutt my mate. (think of simba and nala of TLK, happy headbutt, lol)

He's usually pretty accepting of it, but sometimes it can hurt a little. ><

We both rawr and mrawr at each other, and snuggling it's impossible NOT to let our a murr or purr.

People watching our affections would think we're psycho, lol.

I also do the same behaviours with my 'pet' cats (I hate that term. -_-;; )

I do massive head tilt when I don't understand something (or find it deeply interesting), plus I do make some sounds, growls, murmurs, like cats do. I don't do it purposefully, I just do it. *blush*

I also tend to bite and lick my partners who are generally not furs because there aren't that many in Texas. Some didn't like it, some did.

As my current boy, he loves it.
He loves it when I purr. He loves my bell. He thinks its cute, but will never convert to being a furry.

I lick my wounds a lot, which I believe is bad for humans to do. I meow randomly even at school.

I've a really bad habit of knowing when to bounce and when not to.  I've been known to knock things over 'cause of it

I curl up when I lie down (dunno if that counts as a BAD habit)

If I get impatient whilst standing in a line for something I will start bounicng up and down.

Taking off my shoes, hugging people and curling up & going to sleep - at inappropriate times / situations (I've learned to tone it down now though, lol).

My other half purrs when I stroke her (I don't know how she does it, I can't lol), my son growls and mews (we've had to train him on when thats inappropriate though).

Eh, the only outwardly furry traits I'm aware of people having picked up on are the fact that when I fall asleep watching movies with my chums I burrow up for warmth. That usually gets them calling me a dormouse.

At work one of my comrades joked that she wasn't going to let me do customer service that day until she was sure I wasn't going to growl at the customers. (I hate working saturday mornings). But I think she was being metaphorical.

I tend not to have any bad furry habits just because I keep furry fandom as a hobby. In the human world I am human, in the furry world I wear the fursona mask but am still human.

I have many animal habits.  I personally don't see any of them as bad just cuz I've always done them, but I'll let you guys decide whats bad and whats not.

-I growl and hiss at people/animals when I'm mad
-I lick my wounds
-My acrylic nails are pointed and sharp like claws
-I scratch like a K9
-I howl at the moon or if I hear other howling, like on a song or the wild coyotes howling near my house
-I purr when I'm happy
-If you scratch a good spot(usually on my upper back) my leg will kick like a dogs
-I will occasionally eat and drink like an animal(not using my hands)
-I communicate with the furry wildlife nearby and my friends in animal sounds(bark, yip, growl, purr, meow, ect.)
-I sneak up on people both intentionally and unintentionally
-I sleep curled up like an animal would
-I have more sqweek toys and chew toys then our actual pets do, and I play with mine more then they play with theirs
-I chew on random things(this is why I have doggy chew toys)
-I sniff my food prior to eating it if it is something new
-I wolf down my food hardly chewing at all, causing myself to need to drink something so I don't choke(my dog eats this way too)
-I chase small animals if they run from me, favs are birds and cats
-I snuggle with anything that happens to be on my bed with me, be it human, animal, or plushie
-I wear my collar everywhere and am proud of it
-I walk digi-pawed/bare-pawed everywhere I go
-I use words like paws, claws, fur, snout, tail, ect. in place of human words
-I yawn like a cat
-I stretch like a cat or dog
-I've been known to scratch and bite hard in defense(A creepy guy in high school tried to pick me up from behind and carry me off somewhere, so I bit him hard enough to bruise and clawed him till his arm bled to make him let go of me)

I think thats all of it.  If I remember something else later I'll add it.

.I bite...A lot
.I growl bark howl and use all kinds of animal noises to communicate (my squad hates it when i do that over radio)
.I scratch wildly at every itch i get without noticing ...and in public
.I chew everything I get my paws on ie. shirt necks leather and a medley of other  inanimate objects and people that dont mind
.I criticize humans every chance I get and when people say "you are human" I growl and tell them to "stop insulting my intelligence"
.I sometimes forget I am at least part human
.I either have my tail and/or ears on or have phantom tail/ears syndrome
.I chase small animals

I also tend to make furry noises when happy or angry.
I also fall asleep when someones holding/cuddling me.  Then, I will burrow into them and curl up in there lap. But its ok, my boyfriend likes it when i curl up in his lap  (:

I'll occasionally growl when angry.  I'm also known to make a 'nest' of sorts when I sleep with the covers.  I'm usually curled up as well when sleeping.

Oh so many 83

I saw 'paw' instead of hand a lot.  I also tend to communicate in random noises like yelps, whines, growls, etc.  And I use 'meep' a lot IRL.  xD

I also love cuddling.  Excessively.  x3

I tend to look at animals not as dumb beasts, but as very equal beings.  I dunno whether that's more of a furry or a therian thing but there you go.

I talk to them sometimes x3  Lesse...what else...

OH!  There's the whole phantom thing that pretty much eats me alive >>;  I constantly find myself scratching at my imaginary ears, or trying to balance or wag my imaginary tail --;  It's kinda silly, but it's me x3

Till the moment I discovered furry, I always had different social structure than other people.  People couldn't say hi to me without "threatening" me, a.k.a. showing teeth while smiling.  There were many more than that, and 2 people have had to have neck operations because I almost tore there throat out.
I'd say that would be a bad habit...

I have a tendency to sniff a lot of stuff,
My body seems to detect the nearest life form when I sleep and cuddle up to it,
If I ever get food on myself I tend to lick it up(can you believe I was told that's not good table manners? I would think it rude to waist the food)
and I chew any wire that gets near my head without knowing it.(I chew other things but wires are most notable as of now)
I wish I'd stop ruining my headphones :(

Well I have had times where I need to chew. Haven't had anything like that too much since I was younger.

Just a few weeks ago I had a strong urge to go hunt. Not quite like taking a gun and shooting an animal but more like being the cat and dragging down the prey by it's throat. Yes it's a little gruesome to say the least.

Thankfully it went away, for whatever reason, after I ate some pig tails.

When I walk around normally and I smell something I point my head upwards and sniff with my mouth opened just slightly. I got a strange look from some guy in a Quizno's once because of that. Haha.

I once ate welks. Raw welks. On the beach. Thankfully no one was watching, but I did get a little sick.

I also scratch compulsivly, my eyes are always darting and my head is always moving (I try to be alert  :p ).

Oh, and I cover my mouth when I laugh because I also take baring teeth as a threat.

I tend to walk off, if there's a big group and come back a while later! Oh, I also tend to blink less and have my jaw open when watching something I love! Properly yawn and stretch, so you can see my belly button (If I'm in a t-shirt.) and crack my back more often than I probably should!

There is one other thing I do that I just remember. Not sure if any specific animal does this though. Sometimes, out of no where, I get this feeling and I just need to hide. Bad furry habits...
Hm, as far as I have discovered my furry self, I suppose these habits could be considered bad and furry - or at the very least furry:

Sneaking up on people before pouncing them would definitely be my major 'bad' furry habit, I tend to do it a *lot*.
Scratching and biting in a playful fashion - although I have almost never received complaints about those actually.

As for the rest, I tend to 'rawr' and purr when liking someone/ enjoying something a lot.

People tell me that I purr sometimes (never noticed this phenomenon myself) and everything that is fuzzy attracts my attention. I have caught myself (when my friend yelled at me) playing with her tail (I don't think she considers herself a furry she just wears it) when I sat behind her in class and was purring.

I also find myself wagging a tail I don't have...been doing that a lot tonight!
I end to tilt my head too, lol.
Umm...I growl al lot and really good at it to. That might be a bad thing since I mostly do it when I get mad. ha ha

I get really cuddly at times and curl up on or next to people making weird animal like sounds too.

<font color='#EEEEEE'>I used to. Back in elementary school, I would roar and growl at people who made me mad. I quit doing it because of the reactions I would get from it. The school councilor also had to talk to me about it. She said to quit because I'm a human, not an animal.</font>

I remember a similar incident from elementary school. I don't remember if I did it more than that once, but my friends and I were playing around in the cafeteria, and I started to bark at them. I got reactions from the other kids as if I was weird so I stopped.  :-[

Current habits:
Bad (maybe?): Growling at people, mostly after they've walked away and can't hear me. I can't stand smokers and will let out a growl at them after they walk by, making me breathe their fumes.  x_x
I'm also guilty of the squirrel chasing. But what can I say? It's fun!!!  :P
I do tend to scratch my head, but I never considered that a furry behavior before seeing some of you say it too.

Not bad: I will lick my hand if I hurt it. Barking and growling (playful) at my mate.

I've also been told that I make animal-like noises in my sleep! :-[

I find I avoid crowds, or get to the edge of them so i can make sure noone trys to ambush me.
Small movement always draws my attention and people have sometimes accused me of zoning out whilst i watch an insect or something.
If i'm bleeding, I always like it, cause plasters are useless and annoying (and who wants to find used ones round the house anyway).
Sneaking up on people is one of my favourite hobbies, just for the petrified looks as they run off.
I can sometimes sense if something is watching me and the hairs on the back of my neck go up.

Im sure i could add more, but i cant think of any right now.

I think this thread is more for random comments that you find yourself doing. Not so much about commenting about others furry habits, although I'm sure that's allowed. So on both of those notes...

Do you honestly like chasing tennis balls? I just find that slightly humorous, well I never liked tennis balls nor any type of ball that much. :)

And as for a habit of my own, ever since I started working at this dog and cat supply store I find myself more and more staring at the food and snacks (although they are for dogs, many do look pretty tasty) and usually leaving with a huge appetite. I tell you what though, it's the first place I'll head if there is some sort of catastrophe happening, tons of food, blankets, basically it's an all-in-one shop intended for pets, but I'm sure humans would survive fairly well there also! Not to forget some of the toys they offer there can easily be turned into weapons!

Oh jeez. XD

I mew and growl at things relentlessly, and thankfully don't get in trouble for it usually.
I can purr rather well, even though my fursona is a dog (whattheheck?), and happiness usually results in a purring session, I'm sure.
Sadly, my sense of smell is about dead (bad genetics) so I usually can't smell anything at all, but when I do (certain scents, like.. oh, say, cinnamon apples) I have to follow it.
As a kid I walked on my toes a lot, chewed on things for the heck of it, and would howl.
From what I've heard from friends, I also tend to chase things in my sleep.

So, either I'm insane, or I'm furry. XD The latter is easier to believe.

I tend to purr or make cat noises whenever something catches my attention.  I practiced doing cat noises a lot when I was little and actually got to the point where my cats responded to me when I called!  Now that I'm older I don't think I'll ever grow out of it!

The ones i find myself doing most often though are: carrying things in my mouth even if my hands are free (did this before i knew i was a furry but i notice myself doing it more now), sniffing the air like a dog when i smell something interesting and shaking myself dry when i get out of the shower (or at least trying to (: ).
Also i sometimes walk on my toes when no-ones looking (Just to see what it would be like to have digitigrade legs:D)

I've got a couple of these habits my self

I'll talk to my pets in their language
I claw at doors when I have to wait for some one on the other side to open it
I'll chew on things. Pencils, remotes, what have you
I walk digigrade style every where I go
I'll make animal noises to express myself every once and a while
I'll hold thing in my mouth all the time
heck I chew on my feet every once and a while.
I jump down the last 4-5 steps of stairs like I'm pouncing on something.

Wouldn't call it 'habit'

I mutter in my sleep and often yelp. I yawn wide and loud. In a relationship I've given my companion licks on the cheek(before coming to furry fandom too). When I sleep on my back my hands are usually tucked up in a simmilr way that dogs do. I sometimes chew on random objects just out of habit. And when I sleep I move around so much that my blankets tend to be more of a nest shape.

heck I chew on my feet every once and a while.

Do you do that in public?  If so, then AWESOME!

This habit list can also answer why I chose my fursona to be a wolf:

1) I growl when distressed and bare teeth when angry
2) I make "arww!" noises when hurt or in peril
3) I ALWAYS stick things in my mouth and chew on them
4) I use my mouth as a 3rd hand (or often my first hand.  I once opened a door with my teeth)
5) I always smell things to identify them, an I can't incorporate anything into my life without smelling it first
7) I often hold my paws close to my chest when they're free
8) I sit in "dog" position when on the floor
9) sleep on my side with my limbs close to my body
10) I eat extremely fast
11) I eat large portions of food infrequently
12) I make it known that I'm going to the bathroom
13) I often lift a leg when I do
14) I bite things a lot, and people if I'm ecstatic enough
15) I also lick things when euphoric
16) I scratch animalistically behind my ear sometimes (that one actually developed AFTER learning of the fandom)
17)  meat is my main source of food
18) I run (and sometimes walk) digitigrade
19) I rarely sweat
20) Therefore, In heat, I always find my self with my mouth agape
21) I snap my teeth from a yawn
22) I shake myself dry (It's really the best method)
23) I always believe in teamwork.  I hate doing things alone, and I always stick myself to a pack when given a task
24) I also believe that too many people working on something creates chaos.  I prefer smaller teams over herds.
25) I'm a strong proponent of competition and try to bend situations to incorporate it within them
26) I would be loyal to my mate (If I had one)

Those last ones weren't really habits.  :o  I think I went too far . . . . *world explodes*

Although I probably could I often wear sandels if not I walk barefoot.

I cant stand wearing shoes for to long. Even sandels start to bug me after a while so I'll walk barefoot. I've even done that at the mall.

I cant stand wearing shoes for to long. Even sandels start to bug me after a while so I'll walk barefoot. I've even done that at the mall.

I mean heck our feet are adapted for walking. It's just that since we where shoes most of our lifes are feet become week.

Yay, you sound like a Free Paw (http://furry.wikia.com/wiki/Free_paws)!  I think it would be so fun to go shoeless everywhere, but I'm a bit self-conscious about my hind paws.  Plus, my pads are extremely soft (just the way I like 'em), so it would be painful for a while.

Yep thats me.
The only reason I dont go barefoot every where it I'm constantly seeing broken glass on the sidewalks around my house.

I just moved for the best furry house ever.
I lived out in the woods with 36 aches of forest but the only problem was the people that lived there before went exactly environmental so they just dumped a lot of there garbage every where, along with broken glass. I had to be careful even in my well kept backyard.

I had to where boots whenever I went into the forest to keep from stepping on big chunks of glass. :'(

I have been mewing and shaking a non-exist tail and growling non-stop lately XD I growl out of frustration lately, i have been losing many items.

I love to chase and play catch. Tennis balls are sweetness (: :D (: But not to my taste.

And I found myself staring and invaling deeply in the pet section of K-Mart the other day. I went to check on the collar types. I have made it a habbit every time i go to Wal-Mart or K Mart I look in the pet section and think about callors, leashes, and chew toys XD but K mart has a bigger tory and treat section and the smells, although not human food were completely heavenly to me...though i know better than to think it all tastes good XD :-[

That and I've been wiping my face with my paws...hands...a lot lately. I've been in a really good mood so my furry traits are coming out more now. It helps I've found some one completely accepting of it too. But before i rant more i'll end here. (: (: (: (: (:

lol i wet walking at the beach a few months back with two friends when I had just really started wearing my collar outside the house. (His dress like a cowboy, and she was more or less a bright red haired goth! XD and people were on the beach that day.) And I had him throwing a stick adn i'd run ahead and get it and throw it back. They were laughing and saying something was wrong with me, but he kept throwing it and I was enjoying it and it was an awesome day. ^^ I chased the sea gals too...or however that's splet.

Too lazy to check if I posted already...but this is an updated list for me.

I frequently purr when contented, though I am more canine (yay for being the most-feline species of canids!), and I growl when annoyed.  A few months back I experimented with psyching myself into believing I have a tail, and though I can't feel it anymore I still take care not to get it stuck in doors (not so bad, but it's definitely a problem unique to furries!).  When I scratch my jaw, I do it in a way reminiscent of a dog scratching his head with a hind leg.

heck I chew on my feet every once and a while.

Same LOL

-I growl. (Which really scared my friend's dogs  :-[  Hey! They were barking at me first...I just, reacted to it, that's all... x_x  [like they knew I was a fox, or something])
-I really have to stop myself from going up the stairs on all fours around other people.

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them off the top of my head.

Oh yeah! Not really a 'bad habit' but definitely goes with being a fox and all:

I walk digitigrade up stairs without having to think about it.  I think it comes from running up the stairs on all fours as a kid all the time, where I had to be on my toes.  Lately I've been watching other people go up stairs and no one else does it, so i guess it's rare.  Not sure I'd call it a "bad" habit though.  Of course since joining the fandom I now notice myself doing it.  Makes me feel a bit more anthro  :)

You know, after reading through a lot of these "bad furry habits" posts, and looking at the fandom in general, I've sort of realized something.

The fandom is sort of like a middle-aged golden retriever. It is a very nice pet most of the time, it plays fetch, cuddles up with you, and takes walks. It has a bit of a heart worm problem, but you treat it and it is rarely an issue of concern. Every now and then though, it relieves itself on your favorite pair of shoes for no particular reason. Regardless, you forgive it, and go on playing fetch.  :D

I also share most of the traits noted here, and have had them before being aware of the fandom.

I used to walk on-all-fours up stairs (my mum always thought this was weird)

I never lick cuts, because I know thats bad for me, but I often lick places that have unexpected and inexplicable sharp pains that last for awhile, or bug bites. I think the increased blood circulation helps stop the pain.

I was obsessed with dinosaurs as a kid and can literally run velociraptor style because of this. Though I think this is only possible because I have big feet for my height. At work I frequently have to stand on tip-toe because I'm short.

I only hiss at things when I have the fearful/killing instinct. Like when I see certain types of bugs,(earwigs, cockroaches, really nasty-looking spiders) or something startles me when I'm outside. For me it's triggered by feeling threatened, and I can't help it. (though I've hissed at cats that show me too much attitude)

I'm told I sound like a small dog, because I "yip" when startled.

-If I get excited or really happy I purr  :)
 -I sometimes growl when angry
-I chew on anything I get my hands on

That’s all I can think of right now, seems most furs have similar habits 8)

I used to be like that, just stopping my self before i did it, but since really getting into the fandom i don't see any point in doing that. All my friends know I'm a furry so they don't care about it and if they don't why should I? (:

My classmates react in the opposite way. If I do something furry-related (i.e. growl, bark, meow, sniff the air, even turn my head in an animalistic fashion, react to my surroundings like an animal, etc), they just act like nothing happened, because they've pretty much been exposed to it all the time because I do it out of habit. :D Only strange looks I get are from people on the street who don't know me (which is kind of impossible because I live in a VERY small town). And very few people will bark/meow back at me just because they think it's funny/cute.  :P

definitely guilty of this, especially the faux fur throws they have for sale at my work, i just have to stroke them when i go past :D

I sometimes do the sniffing in the air thing and occasionally the snarling (more often than not when slightly "worse for wear" :-[ )  but then I've done those things for years even before i was "officially" a furry.

this one isn't quite a bad habit as its not actually something i can do ,but i occasionally get an overwhelming urge to try and scratch my neck with my foot like a dog  :P , never actually tried to as it would be futile, and well people would talk you know  (:

I do the "yip!" thing when I get hurt or shaken, I do growl when I am angry, I usually bite when I'm in a fight (Hey! That rhymes!  :D), and I do the "chewing whatever I get my hands on" thing as well.

I also misspell alot of words that would sound comfurtably with "fur".(examples: first=furst [could also be with thirst], brother=brofur, friends=furiends, Fred=Fured,*uses spell checker* :o comfurtably in the sentence above :P.)

My bad habits are somewhat funny. Usually when i walk my dog in the neighborhood, I tend to start barking at the dogs that run to their fences to bark at us. I also get extremely defencive about my food. If someone i don't know comes up to me while I'm eating, I'll let out a low growl at them and shield my food. I also like to use animal noises to better express how I'm feeling at the exact moment. It's usually spontaneous and earns me a few odd looks.

Well, the most common one for me would have to be expressing myself through animal noises. Most often, I simply state, "Grrr." I also like chewing on things and biting (only playfully, and then only with my intimates).

I also shake the majority of the water off me after a shower, rather than immediately toweling off. I guess growing up around three dogs, I never really considered it a big deal, so I've gotten quite good at it.

Heh, this one's my favorite. I do lots of drawing, so I work with a separate drawing pencil and eraser pencil. Whenever I needed to erase something, it became completely habitual to simply snag the pencil in my mouth and pick up the eraser. Once I was done erasing, I just drop the eraser and snatch the pencil back out of my teeth. Any other artists do the same, or something similar?

Let's see...

I take my steaks rare enough where it might as well still be mooing (not exactly a furry habit, but I consider it a more animalistic one).

I have trouble sleeping alone, so if I'm ever at a friend's house I'm likely to curl up on the carpet somewhere near him and fall asleep at inappropriate times. There's been a time or two where I was at a party, a friend went to rest on the couch, and I wound up falling asleep with my head at the foot of the couch so I could be close to someone.

People have taken to "petting" me because when they do, I... well, it's about the same as when you're rubbing a dog's belly. They think it's funny because I do it without thinking now.

I chew on things religiously which tends to get...out of hand at some times

I also love to stick my head out of the car window while I go down the freeway  :D and I yawn like a dog sometimes too.

Thank God I can refrain from doing embarrasing stuff out in public or around my family like barking or something like that.

I sometimes use a serrated steak knife as a fork, just to watch people squirm when I put it in my mouth.   :D

With nut butters I do that to but use the spoon and I just can't help it but I haven't finished spreading it on my crackers but I lick the spoon as I do one at a time and eat it then carry on with the next so I have no choice but to try and eat it all so I try but there is always some left so I stopped buying them now I only get roasted cashews.

I also fill a sleep by the heater some times on the floor, it's better then being in bed because in bed you can't have the heater on you at all without the fire risk so I chose the floor.

i eat salad, waffles, pancakes, & bacon with my hands. i refuse to use a fork, & wont even if someone tries to force me. so i dip my food into respective dressing or syrup, cuz i absolutely HATE IT when its poured ontop of it.

sometimes if i dont feel like using the fork, ill use the knife to stab my food & eat it (it sometimes freaks out my family). :B or if i dont have a knife, ill cut it with the fork.

i also used to eat pudding without a spoon; i just either used my tounge or my finger. XD sometimes i use a spoon now.

I tend to eat things with my hands (really sloppy eater XD) and I eat my food really fast (especially if I feel threatened that someone may take it away). I'll eat just about anything.  :P

I've been told that I sometimes turn my head in an animal-like fashion when something catches my attention.  :o I don't know how to explain that one. XD;

And I have this really bad habit that whenever I am opening something with a handle (especially doors), I first paw at it, inching closer to it before I even touch it. ^^; I can paw at it for as long as a minute before I open the door. XD

I mew, bark, hiss, growl, howl constantly. I even did it as a kid. There's this home video my parents have of when I was only 1-2 years old, and I was growling at my dad when he touched my foot. XD

I was at home with my dad earlier today, my sister's school bus stopped to let her off. So, as I was watching her walk up I started to kinda half purr/half growl, like a dog playing might do, while thinking about playing some kind of trick on her when she walked in. (We do that to each other all the time.)

My dad looked up from his computer in the room (I was in the foyer while he was in his bedroom, but the front door and his door are a couple feet apart) and simply asked "are you purring...?"

I kinda made some random excuse about trying to annoy the cat...then my sis walked in the door.

...And here I was, despite the awkward "purring" acknowledgment and all, just kinda sad I didn't get to play a joke on her because I was talking to him. :D

Being a choir kid, I've gone through some serious falsetto training.  Very nice for making animal sounds, calls, or just screaming in general.  After working with my voice long enough, I've gotten very good at learning sounds I couldn't normally make.

Biting is one, but only when someone tries to tease me (I scratch as well). My brothers hate it, yet they still keep doing it. With them I still have cub-like behavior. When I was little (not my baby years, I mean like age of 7-12), my parents got annoyed when I started to bite furniture (arm of an armchair) Making animal noises is just normal to me, though it's not always wolf sounds, no one has ever wondered why I do it. Of course I don't do it all the time, but couple times in a day. I also like to "answer" if I hear animal sounds. Sometimes I carry (small) stuff in my mouth, it is handy. Using legs as hands every now and then might be just normal.

I had problems with my sole years ago and the doctor told me to in order to make them stronger, I would have to walk on my toes couple hours a day, so it might be why I still sometimes walk on my toes. Like others here, I sometimes jump over the last steps of stairs. I like to headbutt my friends and if one of them pets me and I'm sitting on the floor, I will go on my back and raise my limbs like a dog (they say it's cute). Some foods are just better to eat using hands. Sneaking on my family and friends is again one of the bad habits.

I have two annoyingly-furry habits that I'm trying to break myself of, but as the old adage goes: some habits die hard.

The first is stalking moths. If they didn't want to be chased, they wouldn't be so flappy and enticing. The second is kneading. Like a cat on something soft, except I do it in the air when I'm talking to folks. I'll be easy to spot if you're ever looking for me.

Fourth'd.

Also: I was roleplaying with a friend of mine yesterday. A new character was introduced, as she spotted Junyad, asked why he looked like a cat, and proceeded to scritch him, trying to get him to purr. Try as he might, he eventually gave in and lost himself in euphoria.

All the while, I myself felt an odd sensation on my head, then spreading to the rest of my body  :o. It only lasted for a moment, but it was weird.

Yessss....I tend to walk in a kind of sneaky snakey way, which usually attracts the attention of my teachers,  who don't trust me too much...(probably because I'm aggressive to other students)

I eat looots of meat, flick my tounge out alot, and I have a large bag in my room chock full of shiny things I hoard. Once my mom was snooping around in my room and accidently dumped it...>.=.>....

But I suppose my worst trait is I'm mean. I've improved over the years..(when I was younger, I was downright sadistic) But now, I'm a pretty sociable reptile. I still have a hard time feeling remorse or sympathy.

One horrible habit I have is biting and chewing on the bus seats at school. I can never stop myself, and my friends hit me when they realize what I'm doing. I had managed to bite and chew a hole into the back seat so much that you could actually stick your fist in it.  :o
Then there's also the habit that (when Im with a close friend) I start to cuddle around her feet like a dog would o___o;

To the following:
I burrow during the winter and prefer to hibernate.
I can't stand the bright sun, but I don't like the dark dark.
I always have this nasty habit of pulling my food up and eating kinda like a lizard, by throwing my head up, specially noodles, and forcing it down.
I have a habit of tearing into my meat like an animal.
I walk on all fours a lot, or curl up n a small space with my tail.
I have bettering hearing than most and i can hear small things/hear when someone is trying to sneak up on me, but I can be almost silent when I choose to be.
I chase string, and laser pointers, ect.
I bite and chew on things.
I cuddle at feet.
I snarl/give a high pitched hiss/growl when I'm irritated, or mad, or annoyed.
I scratch a lot.
(and more)
--
Oh yes.
I walk on the balls of my feet, if I'm on the flat or the heel I feel uncomfortable.

- Cuddling at feet

Because I spent almost a year fostering primates, I have this weird tendency to make Vervet monkey or chimpanzee noises when words can't describe what I'm feeling.

I chatter my teeth or whimper when distressed, screech when I'm tickled (much to the dismay of my friends, lol) and I do all the vocalizations heard here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQFOi5Whlzk

My laughter is no longer people laughs. I have assimilated into chimp culture.

Which is why I work at a lab.

Edit: Forgot to add that I make a lot of gestures we taught the young Vervets in DRC. Usually I do the hug gesture subconsciously.

Hey, I do that all the time! Only I do it because if I don't make mental notes of where things are, I am guaranteed to lose them! That, and I like to make a list in my head of all the people I could talk to if I needed to. I even scan checkout stands to find the most friendly cashier!  :-[

I've been told I have a tendency to touch things and analyze textures. I just love fuzzy or waxy-smooth things...  :)  At the same time, my most animalistic trait is a strong aversion to any physical contact with strangers. Title: Re: Bad Furry habits

Well, let's see. I used to, and still very rarely do, sort of "growl" at people when I was really angry at them (usually in school when actually talking to someone in an angry way would just get me in (more) trouble), by basically just tensing up my throat muscles as much as I could and breathing heavily. Funny thing about it is, I wouldn't even notice I was doing it until they told me to stop doing it.

I've also gone up the last six or so steps on any staircase in my house on all fours for as long as I can remember, for basically no reason.

I used to do that all the time!  We lived in a town house with four floors...I personally thought it was easier to climb stairs doing that, but I'd have to try it again to be sure :)
Now the funny thing about that for me is, I have zero trouble whatsoever when I have to go up stairs "normally", compared to going up quadruped style.
But now, my house is completely ground level...  :P

I don't have any trouble going up stairs normally.  It's just (at the time) I found I could go up the stairs much faster quadruped.

I meant that I don't notice any difference in difficulty or speed between two and four limbs on the stairs, though I would imagine four would distribute body weight more.

I can't sleep without one. It's best not to mess with any of these dogs. Only I may touch them. And speaking of my animatronic dogs, I talk to them like pets. Some can even bark back!

Not all my habits are necessarily bad, but they are still furry habits. xP

I have a tendency to walk in a bipedal stance while walking around my house.
If I'm going up a steep hill I'll drop on all fours.
If my friends hold their fingers in front of my face I'll snap at it.
I have to fight the urge to growl at people while in mixed company.
I yip in a high-pitched tone whenever someone tickles or pokes my ribs.
Title: Re: Bad Furry habits
Post by: Noodlefox on October 31, 2011, 11:22:50 pm
I tend to nip when feeling affectionate (a habit my mom loathes), and will bite if my personal bubble is unhappily invaded. Usually it's all I can do not to snap at people in Wal-mart or the mall when they get to close and I know I've bared my teeth and snarled on more then one occasion without thinking about it. I'll actually flea nip areas that itch that I can reach and I tend to lick wounds. I'll use my teeth to do just about everything (open bottles/packages, bite off loose strings from clothing, bite off the plastic name tags we have to use for dogs when my boss isn't looking... etc), and I have a tendency to chew everything that isn't nailed to the floor.

Uhhh... that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure I do stuff I'm not even aware of.

Sometimes when I go shopping with friends, I'll be following them when all of a sudden one of them will say "Hang on a minute, where's Becky?" Of course, I'll say "Um, I'm right here." They'll probably jump and say to me "Gosh, Becky! Where'd you go?" And I'll say "I never left. I've been here all along."

So I'm guessing that could be a bad habit of mine; no talking for a while and then people think I've gone missing, only to find me right beside them. Or it could just be them.

In addition, I sometimes growl at people behind their backs when I'm angry at them, and sometimes I'll swipe at the wall for no reason, as if I had claws and I was trying to sharpen them on the wall.  :o

I wouldn't say they're necessarily bad.  :D

Sometimes when I'm alone, I drop down to all fours. Especially with the stair thing; since human legs are so much longer than a quadruped's, the incline helps even things out. I roar when I want to be left alone, so when people hear it they don't come and bug me. I have conversations with my cat in her language, too. She never gets annoyed, either, which is astounding with how much I do that. :D I stretch like how a dog does - leaning back so their butt's in the air and their chest's on the ground - though I use walls instead of the floor. I also enjoy prowling and surprising close friends.

Not sure if they're 'Bad' habits, but they're habits all the same.

I walk on my toes, purr when I'm pet, growl when I'm upset, and walk with my arms folded close to my chest. If you've ever seen a Pangolin walking, they hold they're arms/forelegs kind of like I do.

Mine?  Mine would probably be my tendency to smell a lot of things, and I also sneak up behind my peers, it tends to surprise them (I walk more on my toes). I also have a tendency to wear fur hats all the time (I come from a very cold climate, but I tend to wear it in the summer, when it gets to around 30 degrees Celsius). I also scratch behind my ear, and I get very edgy when someone's hand goes near the front of my body (i.e. chest, abdomen, &c.).

Other things, not necessarily bad, I like my back/head scratched, I skip stairs/climb on all fours almost all the time, and tilt my head when I don't know the answer to a question. I also sit cross-legged. I recognize people by the way they smell, I have a great sense of smell. I also have terrible social anxiety.

After reading the stuff on this thread a lot of stuff I do could be considered furry stuff!

I also have good navigation skills like i always know where i am going even though i have never been there. I can also understand animals and how they feel. I also grow my nails out (but not to long) and i dont like to cut them.

I walk on my toes, so people don't hear me often, as i also walk very lightly. I snap a people who get to close to my face [no few bitten fingers from that!] Also, when people touch my back without me knowing, I freak on them a lot... like whirling around and almost kicking them

I tend to walk digitgrade when I'm trying to sneak silently. I chew on most anything that is within mouth proximity. I also hold things in my mouth that I could just as easily set on the desk or ground. I seem to have a connection emotionally to most animals I've met. I can easily tell how they feel and they can feel my emotions, too. Also, I don't know if this is a furry habit, but I know some animals can do it, but I can "sense" people. They give off a sort of aura that when they enter the room, even if I can't see, hear, or smell them, I can feel their presence in the area. It's sometimes really weird, because on some occasions I not only knew someone was behind me, but I could tell exactly who it was.

likewise to most of that myself :)
but as for people being behind me.....i get some looks at work when the following happens, *le welding away* boss stands behind me, i see him in reflection of my helmet. then say if a long drawn out way "Yes?"
the looks on other peoples faces at the bosses failed sneak attack are priceless.  :D

Meowing, purring, growling. I'd go around on all fours if I could walk. Often refer to my paws (as in, "dude, have you ever, like, looked at your paw? I mean, really looked at it?"). And I think in... rather non-human terms, finding I have to stop and find the human equivalent at times when I want to speak.

Incidentally, I've been doing all this since I was a young kitten, long before I knew what "Furry" was or that it even existed.

Side note: Heeey, am I the only one who can feel their "furry" parts, like ears and tail?

I wouldn't really count this as a bad habit but I growl a lot, usually as a playful annoyance like grr lol. And then I'll purposefully growl at the cats to make them go away/keep them in the room as I'm closing the door. Or at my dog just for fun. He'll go on his back and show me his belly ;)

Inspired with the fandom I started sleeping with large plushies since 2008. I have done so since a child in the mid 1960's  I become a plush cuddle addict. If  I drop my plush while I sleep with i will grab a pillow or sheet. I have sneaked a pluhie with me when traveling.  I keep 5 plushies on each side of the futon and will grab one while sleeping or when I roll over I will still have the plush in my arms and will repostion it without waking up.

one quirk: I will realer y sleep with my guy plushies they have to be female bears, Hello Kitty or Minnie Mouse, even through Chococat has known to sneak in for a cuddle. I do have a tradition  with large plushes in my collection, I have to sleep with then a least one night.

Growling when we are irritated, creating "nests" in the snow (it snows quite a bit in the winters where we are), hoarding shiny stuff (rather common practice among dragons as we recall), and clawing surfaces when we are bored. Our list may be strange, but it is honest.  :D

I yelp or chirp if surprised or hurt, and snarl if someone does something to me I don't like, which doesn't happen often.  I did once hiss and snarl at a kid reaching for my necklace without asking, since it looked like he was reaching for... something else.  At home I walk on my toes a lot and I also tend to perch instead of sit on chairs when possible.  I have some very subtle habits too like pricking my ears and turning my head when I hear a noise and resting on the front of my hand (my fingers are double jointed at the base so I can do a digitigrade hand-thing).  I picked up all of these before I ever heard the term furry, so they're less 'furry habits' and more 'socially awkward animalistic habits'.

You know, I can't really blame anything on the furry fandom because most the stuff I do I started before I even knew of the fandoms existence, also I still make an active decision to do or to have started doing any said habits. Thus I am entirely to blame and if it just so happens to get compared to an animal, that's pure coincidence... (Not /bad/ habits per say just habits btw.)

* I like being petted and when so will reply with nuzzling into said pet or tilting my head in said direction of pets
* I yelp/squeak/meep upon being tickled.
* I nom on stuff out of boredom, prey of choice being soda cans because poking holes in the can with my k-9's is strangely amusing
* I sleep curled up in a ball (only takes up about 1/4 - 1/3 of my twin sized bed when I sleep)
* I run digitigrade because I run faster doing so and because I don't wear tennis shoes so It helps my sandals stay on when running at 7+ mph

Well, I once was in a writing class, and this was during a time when I was pretty much constantly tired and not thinking clearly due to an alcoholic room-mate, among other issues from my past that I was still sorting out in my head and in my life. One day, I was especially underslept, and I was trying to participate in class. And then one of my classmates, out-of-the-blue, squawked, "Haha! I swear, he just yipped! That's so cute!" I was a little embarrassed, but then I realized that I've just gotta suck it up and stop being embarrassed over these things. I have a few cutesy/weird furry habits, and I've just got to learn to live with them.

Okay, another habit is that I will make "dooking" or "purring" noises while eating. I'm not aware of it. The only way I even know about it is that other people point it out to me. And I'm like, "NO I DON'T!" and they're like, "oh, yes, sonny, you do." And finally I realized, yeah, I kinda do. It's a strange, guttural "dookdookdook" type noise, I swear. Some people just describe it more as a "purr."

With my mate, I insist on being petted a lot. I'm like the most obnoxious attention-desperate cat you've ever seen. Hey, some people may think it's weird, but I really have an awful, grouchy personality if I'm not getting my scritches regularly. If I'm petted on a lot, I'm actually a tactful, thoughtful, solicitous sort of person. It may sound strange, but it makes ALL the difference.

And I have had a few others at various points in my life, but I attribute them more to my own particular insanity than to being a furry.

funny thing is when ever i get in to a conversation like that it's always girls im talking to well... makes sense why i don't talk to boys at my school about maybe 90-96% of them are complete morons very very immature. at least with girls it's maybe 50-70% morons and immature. i guess it's true that girls mature faster than boys :3 i only talk to a very males at my school maybe about 12 out of 650 people

Hmmm....

I've got a few. Most of them have already been said. Here they are anyway. Scratching behind the ears, holding things in my mouth, using my head as another hand. An example would be using my chin to put pressure on a screwdriver while holding a wire in one paw and using the driver with the other. Oh and calling my hands and feet paws. I also growl at people all the time, even before I knew what a fur was. actualy I growl at all things that irritate me especially loud noises My co-worker found out that if he fake shoots me I will play dead so that happens every once and a while. I've bitten people, and hard too. I've also fallen asleep curled up at peoples feet. Turning to jello when people pet me. Begging to be petted. I'm sure there are more just nothing else is coming to mind now.

In my opinion the only thing that makes these bad habits is that I'm a 27yo railroad mechanic and I'm the only furry I know. However I must say most everyone close to me including most of my co-workers know I'm a fur and no one seems to care.

Ok here are a few of my habits (not all furry related or bad): - Adding to the list as I scroll through and read all the comments
I curl up when i get to sleep for warmth (depending on the weather. If its hot I can't do this. I do live in Australia)

I find the floor more comfortable than furniture (if its fairly clean carpet)

I randomly bounce up and down sometimes when I'm bored or want to see over someone in a crowd.

I eat food extremely fast (except for breakfast. I struggle eating breakfast foods)

I'm awkward in social interactions with people whom I don't know. Even with people I do know I hardly ever show facial expressions. I almost never show people my teeth (this may have something to do with not being able to show facial expressions because I wore braces for 2 years)

I like the run :D However I can't wearing formal uniform at school. Formal uniform sucks! (Even when I was younger I would run in shopping centres because there so open. However occasionally I'd get told off by security guards. They think running is suspicious and dangerous. I have a nice habit of running around object and people quickly. However my stamina lacks when it comes to playing Chasee) Also at school on Friday I ask my friend "wanna go for a run?" "wanna go for a run?" "Wanna go for a run?"  ;)

I shake my head/body after a shower to get rid of excess water before using a towel

Also. Sometimes I can be very defensive of my personal space. (Sometimes I think I just need to chill)

I also tend to use my feet more often as a weapon rather than my hands.

I tend to only talk to people in my "pack" (group) and avoid anyone else. This is also due to my lack of social skills. However I find it easy to talk to people with common interests. (I'm also a bit of a nerd ^.^)

When I get annoyed I growl by saying "grr"  (I did this before I know I was a Furry :D)

My cat headbutts me :P I lay on the floor and he falls sideways to my side with his head next to mine.

I've read (on this forum post) that some people go up stairs on all fours. This makes sense as it is easier to judge where the next stair is. I think I've done this a few times as a kid but there are no stairs. There is absolutely no stairs in existence that I use frequently and allot of the stairs are outdoors and made of concrete. I do however think this would be very efficient for  indoor wooden stairs.

I used to have the habit of forgetting to breath when running ^.^ I think I still do actually. (I breath a little. Not as much as I should - I have a large lung capacity but most of the time I take short calm breaths) Also I sigh occasionally. It's not that I'm annoyed. It's actually that I need to breath.

Licking plates and knives clean (unless they're sharp knives)

Hiss at my cat when he's been bad

I don't chew things (other than food) but occasionally I just hold things in my mouth :)

I Smell my hands to see if their clean. Metal and money have a distinctive smell. However blood can smell like money :/ I've had my nose Cauterized recently so everything smells a bit like blood. (So I guess Money, Blood and metal have a similar smell) (I used to do this but I was told by my family that It's weird - meh. So I now do that less frequently.)

i found out yesterday that leather belts taste like coffee....
I thought it had more of a subtle taste? Weak coffee?

Sometimes, in the morning when I have to get ready for school, my parents flick on the lights. I just let out a sorta "Ack!" sound. But, they're starting to sound more and more like barks...

I find myself doggy paddling in water polo because of my fursona and laugh, people just stare awkwardly. And I also do all of those except for the thing with asking to run on Fridays, and the uniform thing, we don't really have uniforms in America. I also usually don't have to jump to see over people cuz I'm pretty tall, but if I have to I almost always do, and my parents are just like "chill, u aren't an animal", and I'm subconsciously like " I sorta am sooo... do I keep doing it?" XD

(This is in reply of sciex's post).

Well. I'm the 3rd tallest person at my fairly small school. I still jump occasionally and it's not always to see over people. Sometimes I just jump up to the height of the tallest people (and slightly higher) just for fun ^^

Sometimes now I catch myself jumping over something and then wondering how I did it. Last week on Friday I jumped over a desk  to get to a seat before someone else and today I jumped over a chair to get a seat before someone else. I'm most active on Fridays because that's when I wear the less annoying sports uniform and I can actually walk and move more freely compared to formal uniform which even makes walking difficult.

@BassCreator I have also found myself doggy paddling :) I really like to swim under water but I have a problem with chlorine.. I just can't stand it and it hurts my eyes so bad. I swam in a salt pool once at my cousins place and that was really fun ^^

I hold and pick up things in my mouth all the time!  :D I find it pleasing somehow and it can be very useful, so I guess it's not a bad habit, but not your average Joe kind of thing

I do that too :D

Drinking out of a tap directly by tilting my head sideways. (I do this when I only need a sip of water or am too lazy)

OMG, i do pretty much all of those things :D :D

Oh wow, I didn't even realize how many I had until I read this list.
I purr. All the damn time.
I also meow and trill a lot, fortunately, my family and all of my previous partners have found it adorable.
I like to sit in high places, or just anywhere that people don't sit.
I bite. a lot. but it's almost always affectionate, and I warn people.
I rub my head on people I like.
I like my head pet.
I hiss, usually in half-fun, half-serious.
I lick my hands too!
I chew on anything remotely string-like. I don't buy expensive headphones, ever.
I sniff the air and my food a lot.
I talk to my housecats, in a mixture of human words and cat sounds.

Only if my hands are fairly clean. I wash my hands regulary ^^ Not too much though, because I get dermatitus. I used to have an allergic reaction to most soaps. I wonder why...

Let's see I sniff/smell almost everything I come into contact with. Ever since I was a kid I have sometimes walked on the balls of my feet like a werewolf. I rarely wear shoes and by that I mean I'm barefoot cutting grass, climbing trees, walking my dog etc. I can smell people as in a can smell their scent. I've always been good with animals as many of us are. I also tend to know why animals are barking or meowing, I know what they want and what they say. Also I'm territorial.

One thing I've noticed that I do lately that charcoal mentioned is chewing on headphone cables (It's more like just holding it in my mouth. I don't really apply much pressure). I've been doing it so much lately XD guess it's a stress reliever  XD Should probably find some gum to chew on though. :)

if something is soft i tend to start to roll around on it and look ridiculous while doing so (and i have a hard time trying to control my self) the good thing tho is that i am able to refrain from doing it in non-private areas.

(havent had much testing since not that many things around me are soft so im not sure if its that much of a habit)

I have a problem sniffing things, especially when I'm nervous/anxious. It's pretty rare that I do sniff something odd, but once a customer handed me their debit card to pay for something, and since I was having a good time with them (we later became friends), I sniffed her debit card to be silly, but it ended up being more strange than funny. :D :-[

I lick plates and bowls clean... like, to the point that it's spotless...

I also meow for no reason sometimes. I've meowed a lot so I can do pretty good noises, some people have even asked when I've done it out of the blue, "Was that a kitten?!" :P I have a bit of voice talent because of it. I use to be able to sound exactly like a seagull. I also chase birds away, even though I love them...

I have a kinda bad tendency to stick headphone cables in my mouth, and when I was younger, I'd lick the static off the front of my CRT television. And I'd lick 9 volt batteries, though I only did that a few times. And also the inexplicable urge to go HEEYYY THAT'S A FUURRY HIIII whenever I see a person wearing a tail/ears at school.

Where do I start, when I am trying to get comfortable in bed I make a gentle kinda growl/whimper sound. I can be quite protective of food. When I was younger I used to walk everywhere on tip toes. I pick stuff up with my feet too.

After my family moved and unpacked everythig, there was a ziptie still on my headphone cable, so I chewed that thing everytime I used the computer. That was 3 months ago and I'm still chewing on it.

Aww man, I HATE it when people take my food. I remember last year, my sister took a bite of my sandwich and I jumped on top of her like something out of Shadow of the Colossus, and stabbed her with a marker. It's not my proudest moment, but that always stands to the extent to which I'll protect my food.

Well hey, it's food. It's good stuff.

I don't have any major bad furry habits, but I'm constantly mimicking my dog (which, to others at least, probably looks pretty weird), and I've noticed that when I have an itch on my head or neck, I'll sometimes scratch at it like a dog... not with my foot though.

Is there a way to scratch yourself that doesn't make you look like a dog?  :D It's like chasing a ping pong ball. There's no way to do it without looking and moving like a toddler.

I'm always growling and grunting. I sound like Tim Allen pretty much, with how much I make noise that isn't speaking. Wake up? Strained grunting as I get out of bed. Stand up out of seat? Grunting as I stand up.Popping bones or knuckles? Grunt, growl, and moan. Randomly drop my food in the cafeteria at school? NNNNAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHH. It's kind of embarrassing actually.

not really a bad habit, but certainly an unusual one: :-[ I'll sniff the air relentlesly even nodding my nose upwards and worling right and left as I do so in search of the origin of suspiscious odors, like burning smells, while at work. others in the room typically laugh about me doing it, but once I alert them of what I'm smelling, some will normally join me in the hunt.
