Most all of us can be president.  But should there be more limits as to who can be one?

I feel my brain changing with age, now 37.  I am not like I was at 22.  My father is 72.  I see he is not at all like he was when he was 55 etc... and of course I still love him.

When it comes to running a country, you need to be the best you can be.  And we all age... even furies... so is age a big factor in being president?  Or is immaterial?

Any thoughts?

According to Wikipedia:

Quote
Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution sets forth the eligibility requirements for serving as president of the United States:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

At the time the president takes office they must be:

a natural born citizen (or they became a citizen before September 17, 1787)
    at least 35 years old
an inhabitant of the United States for at least fourteen years.

A person who meets the above qualifications, may still be constitutionally disqualified from holding the office of president under any of the following conditions:

a) Article I, Section 3, Clause 7, gives the U.S. Senate the option of disqualifying individuals convicted in impeachment cases from holding federal office in the future.
b) Section 3 of the 14th Amendment prohibits any person who swore an oath to support the Constitution, and later rebelled against the United States, from becoming president. However, this disqualification can be lifted by a two-thirds vote of each house of Congress.
c) The 22nd Amendment prohibits anyone from being elected to the presidency more than twice (or once, if the person serves as president or acting president for more than two years of a presidential term to which someone else was originally elected).

To be eligible to be President, I would take things a little further and add that a person must have at least 10 years minimum or 15+ years maximum "political experience" to be President. Trump has no political experience whatsoever. Nothing in regard to defense, immigration, trade, fiscal policy, etc. His only experience in life has been building and managing restaurants, casinos, hotels, and golf courses. What makes him or anybody else think that that kind of "experience" is good enough to run a country and handle the country's problems? It doesn't. Trump is running the country as if it were one of his businesses, which it isn't.  >:(

Age has little or nothing to do with becoming President. What really counts is the experience you have in handling various issues.

Our government is unique in that the number one guy really doesn't have that much authority. The one we have now things he does. That's why 99% of everything he does gets swatted back down. Most of the choices you have are already in place.
It's been said that rats can gain access to your home by climbing up threw your toilet. I prefer to use the front door.

Trump seems to get away with a lot of stuff because him and his aides keep finding and using loopholes in the system to circumvent the Constitution and Congress.  >:( And also that he seems to have the Republican GOP in his back pocket and plenty of lobbyists willing to support him.
