It's not a deep male voice, but you can hear me sing in this song my band recorded.

Surf Messiah

I'm the third string vocalist in my band.  If it calls for an angry or comical sound, I usually end up being the singer.

Also, If you ever need some guitar samples for your songs, let me know.  That's my main musical talent.

Well, in that case, I guess I can try my luck. For the life of me I can't think of anything to sing, but here's a sample me of me doing the typical "do re mi" deal, hitting the highest note I can go on the second "do", then going back down the scale. *will keep the link here for a couple weeks*

Drake Blackpaw hey that like completely rocked!  Way cool.  Now myself I have had some voice training in theater but no real musical experience (I wish) with an instrument.

Being a Appellation dog I did write a folk song regarding the pains felt in a long distance relationship.  I have no music to go with it as of yet.  But I've been told it is a nice and hauntingly lovely melody.

The singing is not my best but a quick recording. In fact I may redo it at some point. I did the recording when I was folding landry. '<img'> But the feeling is there. '<img'>

Listen here:"Like the Wind Calls" written and © by: Gene Angel

Like the wind calls forth the whisper, and the fire that warms your eyes
And that all the tears a flowing, still won't bring you to my side
Hold me tight your simple lover, for I know you hurt inside..
And we'll dream of times a passing where I'll finally hold you right.
 Â
For the stream that goes a passing, down this rocky mountain side.
There I'll hear a lonely howling, telling me that it's alright
Now I call to you my darling, listen for me in the night
I am just a simple lover, where to be simple isn't right
 Â
So our time passes my darling, like the dew that holds the night
And I wish for you my love, just to feel my heart inside
So I cling these final moments, knowing that you'll go away
So say goodbye to me my darling, and we'll dream of better days...

Drake, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your band kicks....hm..Well, you know. Do you guys have a CD or something?

Whitesheperd, my friend, that was cool. I love the old folk songs like that. It moves the heart and soul.

Don't look to me for a voice sample, it would probably break your speakers, Though I can sound a lot like Charlie Daniels....
Life? Ha, the greatest joke. Tis surely proof that God has a sense of humor, all be it a sadistic one.

WhiteShepherd,  That is a lovely song.  Like MidnightDragon, I'm impressed that you are able to keep the time so perfectly without any accompanyment.  The way you sang the song, and the melody made me think of Burle Ives for some reason.

MidnightDragon, interesting piece. The singing is definitely operatic.

And thanks Manethran, WhiteSheperd, and MidnightDragon for the complements.

Just a idea, has any thought of putting together a Furtopia compilation music CD?  We certainly have a large group of musicians on the forums.

Midnight: Hmm, your song sounds Arabic or Indian (Eastern) pluss add in some digital echo and looping?  I'll check my sources and see if I can faithfully follow a cultural refrence like this.

Drake: Actually a Furtopia Music CD does sound like a nice thing.  Even if it was just music compiled by member artists.  A sampler CD (advertising contributing members sites) would be cool to give our at Anthrocon.  But I'm not sure we could pool that much together fast enough?  I know a couple other artists who would most likely want a song on the CD. I think getting a full CD together by Thursday would be exceedingly difficult.  I think some furs who would want to be on it would also be missed in the rush, so there's a good chance for some hurt feelings.

What's the next con that Furtopia attends?  It sounds like some of our members are going to MFF, maybe they would be willing to distribute some sampler CDs to advertise Furtopia?  That would give us another month or so to get it together.

MidnightDragon, I've finished lyrics for one song that's definitely furry themed, and I'm in the process of another.  So, I'm working on getting some furry music out there.  I need to get off my butt and apply for webspace and forum here so I can share the lyrics, as the definitely go over PG-13.  Oh, well you can see where my mind is. I would like to hear this Fur-Song.

Right now it's just lyrics, though I have ideas for how I want the music to sound.  The biggest question is whether the band I'm in will do it, or will I do it myself.  I already presented the lyrics to them and gotten a semi-positive response.

Try explaining a song called Yiff, which is fairly explicit to four people who never even heard of furry.  Talk about embaressing moments.  ''

Actually I was not thinking or a profit sharing or even a sale.  When I was speaking of such I was considering a sampler CD with say a song from each of the artists.  The CD insert would include artist info and web address on each.  Distribution may be at Furtopia events or functions.  But the CD's would be free (or next to nothing production cost) to the general public and act as a advertising/fan tool for the contributing artists.

Though I tend to lean towards non-commercialism in most endeavors, for any art to go commercial you need to sacrifice to create a name and public for yourself.  Then once you are indispensable they won't squak at a "fair" work fee.

That's what I thought you meant WhiteShepherd.  Artists who wanted to be involved would donate a song to the overall effort to help generate an audience.

If you have a mic...and a sweet female or deep male voice, I would like to ask you to make a sample of it and put it online. If I like what I hear I will use you in my next song, with your permission, ofcourse.

If anyone is interested give me a shout in my privite message thing here in Furtopia or post directly to this.

Thanks for your time!

Um don't got one on the computer.... but I must someday get one... ^_^
