I don't know if this is the right board for this but anyway...

so out of curiosity I decided to see how much it would cost to get to AC via boat...turns out you can hop aboard a cargo ship and  catch a ride...they even have guest cabins! but my problem here was having trouble navigating the shipping routes to find one that went from the coast of NC to Pittsburgh. shipping routes are confusing.

Why not just fly? Pennsylvania is an inland state. It's not even near the Atlantic Ocean.

because i can't afford to go by plane, also while it is inland...there is a major harbor that runs literally right beside the hotel

To get to AC by boat, you'd have to travel through the St. Lawrence seaway......

........till you got to Lake Erie, then take smaller boats down through various rivers and waterways till you reached Pittsburgh on the Allegheny River.

Is that even worth it? Seems like too much work to me, when instead you could fly or drive there.

you could boat most of the way then once you are close instead of transferring you could take a taxi or rent a car, or public transport.

or you know you could combine all three ( land sea and air) and go aerophibious ( not spendy at all im sure of it)

mmm maybe...but i like the idea...besides who said i was looking for a cheap way? always wanted to travel by boat
