Heys! I had an idea last night, and I wanted to know what others thought. I was part of another forum called GamerHub at one time, and one of the things they had on there were sprites that represented your class, character in an rpg, ect. So, I was thinking..maybe furtopia needs something like this! Ya know, a furry sprite that they can customize to whim, including hair style and specie. It could go right under the "In the furried demintion! (sp?)" in a box like the avatars, and on the side it could have things like age, race, likes, dislikes ect. You could create them using a Flash menu like the whole Gaia avatar creator, or the "Create a furry" thing from Newgrounds.

(my expertise lies in languages - human, computer and cat). Those who are geniouses (and I see a lot of brilliant artwork around, everyone) might be able to lend a little paw.

So like an RPG character or something? Yeah, I don't know how accurately a lot of people would be able to fill out the form (I've codified almost nothing about my fursona), but it does sound like a neat bell/whistle.

Thats basically what shes talking about. Pictures taken from my RPG character on Gamer Hub.

But, im afraid that it is only for vBulliten Boards...i think. That and you will have to do major editing and stuff to get the furry sprites. That and theres currently no way of changing color of clothes, so changing fur color would be nada also

Sorry to say very limited thought goes into these for those of us who are not anthro, I for one would find it anoying ot have to look at that thing by my name if it couldn't match my true fursona.

Hmmmm, that brings up some thoughts. Custom sprites for non-anthros and for larger creatures (don't we have a 20 yard tall dragon somewhere around here?) would be more difficult, but still should be possible with a little (lot) of extra effort. I think it would also pay off in the long run.

Boy oh boy do I need to get good at flash...

Yeah, I do too. "Prochainement la tres illustre Compagnie du Chat Noir" (ich habbe nicht die France - or german, for that matter). I had to make it different, cause just the thumbnail of the poster itself is severely lame, and I have a) no artistic skill, b) no scanner, and c) no digital camera OR cool pictures of myself. Thats part of why I thing the furry sprite generator would be so useful (at least to me). It might give me something at least a little good to use.

That looks like an RPG hack that is available for Ikonboard, but I'm not too keen on implementing something like that here. This isn't an RPG/gamer board, after all.
I've seen some not-so-artisticly-inclined furs do a screen capture of their Furcadia character portraits and use them as an avatar on forums. That may be an option you'd want to look into.

actually Benjamin, it was for vBulliten. I dont think Ikonboard has a hack for it. But im not too sure on it.

And it was only a suggestion to put the build-a-character part of the hack on here, not the full RPG hack.

I used to be an administrator for Ikonboard itself, so don't bother with second-guessing me on whether or not there's something available for this board software, please. ':p'

It's not worth adding. Besides, it would make the layout here overly complex. I really don't see how it'd be at all useful to anyone except for those that are into gaming or must have stats for their characters. This is primarily a discussion board, not a gaming board.
