Artwork Gallery/Adoption Board
« on: October 05, 2007, 07:11:27 pm »
This is just a thought, more or less, it is just as it sounds. '<img'>

I know we have an artwork annoncement board, and though I do not draw that often, I was thinking maybe we could have like a showcase 'Sticky' pinned up where people could show off some of their best work and for those who (like me) do little bits and pieces of work to show off.

IDEA -2-

My other idea involves an adoption board where signature furs can adopt new furs to show them around for a week untill they get their feet/paws/wings, etc. (Like puppies) but not only for showing around newbies, for stuff like others furs who want to be cute and put themselves up for adoption. (A firend making system)

IDEA -3- (So I said there'd be two, I liiiied '<img'> )

A board in the general section titled "Get to know your Mods" a place for the moderators to post about themselves and/or answer any questions.

Just a random Idea.

There is an artwork announcement board, but I like the idea of the adoption board, or just a sticky post might be better.

The artwork announcement board is where people make a post for their artwork. You can either make one post and keep updating with new art or you can make new threads. Making a sticky will make some members seem more important than others who post art and all our members and staff should be treated equally.

As for your other ideas, I'll post to the staff section. I do like the get to  know your mods thread.

There is a section on the forums where members can get their own forum for posting their artwork etc.
artist's, authors & musicians

As for the adoption part, that has been brought up in the past many times and has been voted down by a majority of the board as this isn't something that Furtopia forums is about.  Some members wanted it to be like a dating service etc., and Furtopia isn't a dating service or a service for members looking for "sons/daughters/dad's/mom's".

As for the 'getting to know the staff' I think that is a good one too.

Another thought on the adoption thing.
any member who wants help or wants to know anything about the forums can ask a staff member.

One thing I felt when I was a newbie here (and to the fur fandom in general) was the staff seemed kinda cold in the way they operated.  I know that to be different now of course, but I must admit I was a bit intimidated by them at first.  I'd love to see something like the "get to know the staff" idea, or at the least a better way of pointing out that they are just as fun around the boards as the rest of us, and not some drone behind a keyboard looking to lock topics and give marks.

At least those were some of my initial thoughts about them.  Who knows, maybe I'm in the minority on this one.  ':?:'

good news. The vote passed on that idea. So expect a forum where all the staff can makes threads on get to know us. We'll even be letting you guys ask questions about things you'd like to know. If we feel we can answer the question we will.

as soon as WS can get to it we'll have it up.

Yaaaaaaaay! '<img'>

I'm glad you guys liked my idea. As for the other two, thanks for reading them.  '<img'>  I almost forgot that I posted this, it's a good thing I was curious enough to try out the 'TOPIC TRACKER' Button. Lol.
