Question about organizing my gallery
« on: May 24, 2006, 09:51:42 pm »
Ok, I've decided that my Furtopia-hosted art gallery, as it is, is too big and takes forever to load on dial-up. I need to change it. I was thinking that I could create subfolders/links for year or subject and have my main page only have those links.

If I'm going to do that, can I just (using FileZilla) create a new folder and drag the files into it, or will I have to re-upload everything? *shudders at the thought* I realise any pics I've linked to before will nolonger be active since their addresses would be changed in this update.

And if anyone can help me organize my site into a more professional-looking site rather than just the basics, that would be lovely, too. I have no knowledge of HTML code or any other computer coding that might be necessary. I'm like the only nerd who sucks at computer coding or something.  ':?:'

I chould probably whip something up in HTML and CSS if you want me to although you'll have to suply (or find a source for) any graphics you want.

Anyway I'm not shure about the FILEzilla thing you'll just have to try it although it is possible to move stuff arround in the web ftp thingies, these so I'd guess it can.

I would be surprised if FileZilla doesn't support moving files.

Also if you need any help with your site feel free to PM me.

Ok, thanks for the tips guys. I'm not on a computer with FileZilla right now, so I can't try it out right away. If it doesn't work, I'll surely be back here.

And once I figure out how I want my site set up, I will be back here I'm sure.  '<img'>

Edit: I just finished trying out the link Lavendar provided, and OMG thanks so much! I can actually open my website from the home computer now!

It still needs more work, but the start I got is just great. Thanks so much.
