Title: Balto's fursuit
Post by: nathalie on August 28, 2006, 03:56:50 pm
I have just updated my online gallery to add pictures of Balto's costume, for which I made the character design, back in 2005. The costume was built by Brokken-T-Wolf and completed recently.

Character design

The costume itself

Balto took it to the Eurofurence XII held this year in Nuremberg, where he wore it for the first time in public

Thank you

The suits cool but I do like the artwork better. The suit came out a big toonier.

Ahh Brokken is really good, I'm gald to see that he had done it. Is there more that he has done or might do?

Love the artwork and the suit. They both look great. :) Here's a pic of the balto suit from EF.

(Second suiter from the left. Disregard the Japanese guy.)

Thank you all for your comments so far and thanks to Kobuk for the link
I did the design for another costume made by Brokken last year; the character was fun to draw as well as unusual and has been taken to Anthrocon 2005 and 2006:
Thppbt the anteater character design
Thppbt the costume Anthrocon 2005
Thppbt the costume Anthrocon 2006
Thank you

PS: If you want to see other costumes by Brokken, check his website.

You did the character sketch for the anteater costume?   Wow, I never knew. Cool concept I must say. I always look forward to seeing new and unique fursuits and designs for fursuits. :) Though I am kinda wondering how the person sees out of the neck area of the suit. Must be a bit difficult I would think. Here's the link to Brokken's site if anyone is interested:

Yes I worked on it back in 2005: the anteater was actually shown in public for the first time at Anthrocon 2005. If I remember correctly, there is a small "meshed" area on the neck, to allow vision. I hope to get more requests for character design for costumes in the future. Thank you for your interest.
