After dinner depending on what we ate and if it can't be eaten as left overs dad will put food in the toilet because we don't have a garbage disposal in the sink and because he already took the garbage out and doesn't want to do it again. For those who don't have a garbage disposal what do you do with left over food? Very random question I know.

put it in the icebox and eat it later.

Depending on what type of food it is, you should never put leftover foods down the toilet in case they plug up the toilet. If people have foods they no longer want and want to get rid of them, then throw them in a garbage bag like the rest of the trash and put in the dumpster/garbage can.

Either put them in the refrigerator or the dog.

"Can't be eaten as leftovers"?
I would give to dog, or eat it at work next day for lunch.
Maybe give to neighbor?
If it can't be eaten as leftovers, is it bones, hooves, fur?

Saying "Just give it to the dog." is a bad thing. Depending on what type of food it is, it may or may not be digestible by canines. A person should always do research and check with a vet about what foods a pet can and can't have. Feeding foods that may be inappropriate for your pet and you're going to be in a world of hurt and plenty of vet bills. :o

True enough.
Foods that ferment can cause lethal bloat.
Lettuce, beans, broccoli etc... bad for dogs
Grapes, onion, garlic, bad for dogs
Meat scraps are good I bet, just watch the bones
