News sources are all a buzz about a large metal monolith that was recently found in a remote part of Utah state. Nobody knows who built it or why it's there.
I tend to think it's probably some art sculpture somebody made. Somebody was probably a fan of the films 2001 and/or 2010.
What does everybody else think? Odd art sculpture or.......... :o

AWESOME! Probably has a Made in China sticker on it. :)
-
If it was aliens you'd think they would put some kind of markings on it to identify it. Coordinates to their star system, a diagram of their species, a bumper sticker that says "I brake for Wookies", anything.
-
I am guessing it is a fun art find. Some artist made it, put it there for someone to eventually find.
It does make a photo that I would love to take myself. I like the way it looks there, and I bet the sunlight can play with the steel and curved sandstone well.
Or the parks service put it there to get park visitors?
(Yeah a few of the alien artifacts that I have seen do have some writing on them, so this is not alien)
:D

How do we know it's not a arrow pointing up? :)
If it is made out of aluminum or stainless steel it could have been there for years without rusting. The only way it was notices was the sun was gleaming off of it. Had they been a few yards in either direction they would have never seen the reflected light.

Found it! :)

This proves it all! Aliens built the pyramids! Aliens did all that precision stone work in South America. And now this proves aliens taught us how to bend, weld and rivet steel!!! And we all thought aliens only did rocks. Well you learn something new every day.
Watched McBride's video. Awesome. Man that's some pretty scenery. But glad I don't live there. I like water. :)

I don't think aliens do riveting. Too "primitive" a concept for them. :D

I love that video of the guy showing closeups of it and showing that it's riveted, hollow, not magnetic. I saw that and went "Yup, it's aluminium."
Kinda makes me feel like Simon from Firefly looking at the "alien" in the freakshow and going "Yup, it's a cow fetus."
Honestly, I would like to see something like this as a message from aliens but I just don't see it happening.

It's gone! :o The aliens removed it.

Guess it's somewhere floating around Jupiter.
Really hope the original creator/creators are the one's who removed it. Would be awesome to find out just how many years or decades that has sat there without detection.
-
It's in my backyard. Wanda is using it as a chew toy.
But yeah, would be neat to hear the full story.

First Utah, then Romania, and now California. :o

By next week, it'll probably be in Jade or Cause's backyard. :D

Looks ominously like BT's ESCM album cover art
Google "BT ESCM"
I knew it looked familiar!

But for what? Whose logo is a monolith?
I am getting the feeling of a lot of copycats. This has the hint of crop circles about it.

If it was in my backyard, the local fox would've marked it.
