Government favors for money
« on: August 28, 2016, 12:48:30 pm »
People complain that the Clinton foundation is taking money from rich people
to get the ear of of the Clintons.

This is new?  Almost all politicians talk to people who support them, or do things that
they need to help them stay in office.. Congressmen, Senators, Governors. ect. It's the way
of politics. Those who don't play the game generally don't last.

Any secretary of state, talks to leaders around the world. and they have their ear. They
have to socialize with many people who have influence, and most of them are rich. Most
rich people like to use their money to make friends and influnce people. It's part of how
they make money or get help for something they support. We who only have enough to
live on, likely have no idea what goes on. Pointing a finger at one is to ignore all others.
I get the impression foundations do more good then they ever hurt. I would be more
interested in how the money is pent than where it comes from.

Here's a good example about the Clinton Foundation.

The payouts made by The Clinton Foundation are miniscule--unless paying for travel and hotel expenses for Bill, Hill, and sometimes Chelsea. I think they missed a prime opportunity when the foundation failed to provide one nickel to flood victims in Baton Rouge.

A lot of the whole thing with her foundation could have been avoided if she just did what she said she would--provide a list of donors and where the money goes.  Clinton said she would do so, and has never done so.  People wonder why she's labeled untrustworthy.

Many presidents have had foundations for charities and good works.

Franklin D. Roosevelt had one. It started the March of Dimes for Polio.

Another was Bush seniors foundation.  Odd when his son was president the
GOP didn't seem to be worried about Bush jr's. connections to it.

The talk about the Clinton foundation is full of conspiracy theories. If there
was any real proof of illegal activity you can be sure it would be in the news.
Trump and the GOP claim many suspicions, but give no proof.

People running for office often make claims to make their opponents look bad.
As said in the  ad "Where's the beef" I say where is the proof, and if there is
evidence let's  put the smoking gun out for everyone to see.  Not some theory..

Edited for spelling.

We had a local congresscritter who retired from office with a huge campaign war chest. He had been knocked out and his shoes stolen one night in DC some months prior. He had announced that he would award a scholarship each year to a local student. It has been a number of years since the former congresscritter's been heard from.

A campaign war chest can be used to sweeten the media in the home district. Any bad press and one need only buy his political advertisements elsewhere.

Somehow, I'm not surprised by this.  :P Kinda gives me the feeling that the Clintons are hiding something that they don't want to get out and be known. And that they may have "put pressure" on the AG not to disclose certain information.  >:(

We wonder if the Prince of Bahrain got his money's worth.

Anyone running for office should be like a open book. Hiding things will cause
them nothing but trouble.

Clintons with their foundation, and Trump with his hidden tax returns. Makes one
think there is quite a skeleton in that closet of Trumps, otherwise why hold them so
tight.
