Greek.
It's been said that rats can gain access to your home by climbing up threw your toilet. I prefer to use the front door.

Off hand I would choose the Ottoman Empire.

Of course
The Roman empire affected religion from the days of the empire through the 20th century with
the Papacy's  enfluence and inquisitions. They did import ideas from the Greeks and many other
countries within their realm of enfluence. and as with most invaders they destroyed much as well.

I don't think it can be narrowed down to any single one empire that had a vast influence on the world, but rather every empire. Greek, Roman, British Empire, Chinese Dynasty, etc.  They all played a part in shaping and influencing world cultures and civilizations.
