INTRODUCTION -

Welcome to the Fursuit Links thread listing Fursuit Makers, Fur Suppliers, Art & Craft Supply Resources, as well as other informative links to websites and other references that list ways on how to create that wonderful fursuit you’ve always dreamed of having. What has been listed here within this thread is a sampling of various fursuiting links found throughout the fandom/Net. Note: Not every link to every fursuit maker, craft supplier, tutorial, etc. will be listed though. If I listed links to every maker, supplier, etc., then that would make this thread way too long.  :P

If anyone notices any broken links within this thread or knows of any sites that may have changed location/website address or knows of any links that should be listed here (or should not be listed here for any reason) that aren’t already, then please contact me or another staff person and we’ll make the changes where needed. However, if a site is down, it could just be temporary due to a server or maintenance issue and may be back up later. Keep checking back every so often. ;) Thanks.

Also, if anyone is planning on commissioning from one of the following makers, you may find my “How to Commission a Fursuit” tutorial helpful which is located below. The tutorial can also be usefull if commissioning individual parts of a fursuit too such as a head, handpaws, tail, etc.
http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php/topic,24176.0.html

Special Note: For anyone who is seeking some sort of a rating or review of fursuit makers and how well their work is, I have decided NOT to write any sort of review system for each individual fursuit maker. I instead leave it up to everyone to do your own research and be a savvy consumer shopper so to speak on who to commission from and what to look out for in terms of quality, etc. But for those that would like to read a review of the work that fursuit makers do, you can check this link here:

Fur Fabrics, Arts & Crafts supplies, Foam, Taxidermy supplies, Fursuit Clothing Accessories, etc.

A Note: If you do buy your own fur to construct your fursuit, you’re probably wondering how much you’re going to need. Unfortuneately, there is no easy answer to this. It all depends on how detailed you want your suit to be and whether your suit is a partial or a full suit. Generally, the “average” amount TOTAL for a fursuit regardless of amount of colors is about 4-5 yards for a full suit, and 2-4 yards for a partial. This might seem too much to some people, but the excess fur you have leftover is good for keeping for emergency repairs and other alteration work, etc.  For my suit, I bought 5 yards of dark green at $20 per yard = $100 total. Add in a coupon for 40% off and my total cost was only $60! Taking advantage of coupons, sales, and discounts will greatly help in cutting down costs. Just make sure you check the quality of the fur before buying if possible. If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Check for softness, fur density, thickness, etc. Make sure to ask questions or ask for pics if buying over the Net. ;) Also, if you do buy fur over the Internet, some fur suppliers can send small swatches (Usually 4 inch x 4 inch squares) of fur to you by mail if you ask for them so that you can see the quality of the fur before buying it.

WHY ISN'T ****** LINK ADDED, OR WHY ISN'T ****** INFORMATION ADDED, ETC.?

As people read this entire thread and the links within for fursuit makers, supplies, etc., you may be wondering: "Why isn't there a link to ******* ?"

* First, As I said at the start of this thread in the Introduction, one of the main reasons why I can't, or don't want to, include so many fursuit links is to keep this thread from getting excessively long.

* Second, I (or anybody else) really don't want to spend long hours trying to fix/update a huge amount of broken links and keep track of websites that have moved to a new address.

* Third, the Internet has tons and tons of fursuit links and information. Way too much to include in this thread.

* Fourth, a lot of websites may often have extra links that will lead to further websites and information you can read.

* And Fifth, I leave most of the browsing and researching up to you, the furry fans. ;) I can't do everything for people. You'll just have to get on your comp and start browsing the Net for what you need. A lot of browsing and a equal amount of persistence (or patience) will often lead you to whatever information you seek. ;)

What I have offered in this thread is a sample only of various fursuit related resources.

Craft/Foam/Art supply site: http://www.foamforyou.com/

This company is based in Michigan. They have a lot of foam options that may be good for those looking to make a fursuit head. ^_^ I believe they ship too.
