Thank you, Sumarra!

Yes, your suggestions helped a lot! I looked at the pic as I read what you said. I will see what I can do.

Also, I will add another piece I just finished. I am having fun doing things with the wings now!

In this one, the Red Foxette has wrapped her wings about herself.

I look forward to the new version of your pegasus.

I like your vixen, especially how you made her so delicate and almost Whippet-like (an attractive breed of dog, IMO).

Thanks. I see what you mean. Yes, whippets are cool dogs. Rasby has 2 and brings them to our gatherings.  '<img'>  I hadn't intended that she be that thin, it just turned out that way. Actually, her legs were even thinner and I added a little more 'meat' to them!

Ok, here is the pegasus again. I worked for a couple hours and finally settled on this position. Because of how I colored the 'wrist' of the other wing it was difficult to put in the feathers. I think when I make another in a difficult position I will draw BOTH wings in before coloring and erasing the parts that are not seen. Drawing is an ever learning experience!  '<img'>

Computer is messing up so I will have to post the pic when we get back.... sorry about that. '<img'>

Ok. It took me an hour or so but I just could not get the wing just right!  '<img'>  I settled for what you see in the pic. That was so disappointing......

"Knight Run 2"

I still need a lot of practice with wings!

This is a new species for me. I was surprised how easy it actually was to create! This is a honey badger.

"Peace in the Garden"

I'm sure one can see the 'theme' I am creating with these last few pics. (giggles) I call it "single colors"... Just something new I am trying out.

Hey,

That's the first time I saw that one.  The color scheme is unique.  It's always good to try different colors in an unusual way.  Well done. '<img'>

Here is a skunk sketch that I did from someone's avatar since I never did a skunk before. This is only a sketch and I do plan on working some more on the face. Enjoy!

You did good with that wing, Kada. It looks much better now, even if it's not exactly how you wanted it. It's a good idea to draw out all the pieces of a body during the sketch to get the positioning right, then erase the parts that are hidden afterwards. It's something I learned about a year ago and it's made a big difference for me. Made positioning a lot easier since I'm not guessing anymore.

Your honey Badger looks very cute and that lioness is just yummy... It seems like your shading has improved on that one, or did you just spend more time on it? It really stands out in that monochrome method.

And your skunk sketch looks good, especialy the curl of his tail.... mmm.. fuzzzzzy, hehe. The porportioning is very good. It strikes me that the base of his tail might be a little too high on his back. If you're intertested in trying, drop that tail line down to the middle of his first finger on his left hand, it might seem better. But it's not a big detail if you've already inked it.

Thank you Sumarra!

I haven't needed to sketch in all parts before that pic so it was definitely something new for me but I will be doing that in the future. Thanks for the tip!

I've been spending more time on coloring the pics so I may get one a day done. I thank you.

For the skunk tail, I thought so too but then I remembered that part of his tail is still behind him against the rock. I finished coloring it last night and here is the colorized version. Wish I had seen your comment before I finished it!  '<img'>

"Skunk Hunk"

I also sketched out a Ringtail Hunk today but since we are on the run I will have to sketch and scan it later for posting! I really like how the ringtail turned out!

Great job, Kada, i really like how you are so daring with your different styles, and you seem to have no problem swiching fron those chalk pics, to the monocromatic pics, to the more traditional colored pencil drawings, its very cool that you have mastered all those styles. Keep up the good work '<img'> .

Thank you so very much, Grasper! I started out with chalks and love them.

Then I tried the Oil Pastels and that first pic was hideous! Didn't try them again till last year when I was doing a jaguar on black paper for my son. I have used them several times since and am learning with each new piece I use them on.

I had also tried the colored Prisma pencils back in the beginning too but couldn't erase like I can with the chalks so I went back to the chalk. Well, this year I started creating more detailed work and the chalk just wasn't going to work so I went back to the pencils. Now, I use them almost exclusively! Chalk I use now and then for large backgrounds.

I have enjoyed creating these monochromes. I like trying new things. I am planning on 9 panels in general and 6 in the adult section, with up to 6 pieces per panel and I would like to have each panel have their own theme. I seem to create better when I am doing themes. I think that is because I am only creating 6 pieces per theme and I don't have to think of so many 'different' pieces!

I also want to say that this theme was inspired by some of BlackUniDragon's artwork!

Here is the last of the sketches in this theme!

"Skunk"
After scanning it and viewing it on my monitor, he looked thinner than on the original piece!

Enjoy!

Thank you, Son of Earth. It is called 'studying' to art books. When I need a certain position for an arm/leg position of the body then I look at the books so I can get the perspectives as correct as possible.

Thanks again.

Oh, and 'Skunk' wasn't the last piece in the series. Here is definitely the last sketch in this series (I am coloring it tonight and will post the colorized version tomorrow.):

This one isn't for sale. It is a piece of what is normal in our lives. Well, perhaps the beach isn't but what we are doing there is. I am forever taking pictures of things, mainly clouds/sun and other things of life. In this piece, I am taking a picture of WS and his RL white german shepherd, Crystal. They are always running playing tag or frisbee or just tugging on a tree limb!

Ive already went to your site three times just to look at your artwork. Your good and you learn fast I see. Wonderful job but I will sugguest one thing to add to some of your artistry. Darker shadows to give them a far less 2d look.

When I saw your colored version of that skunk the first thing that I thought was , "Oh wow!" I love the color, it just stands out and screams 'Look at me!' hehe. He has great form too.

Your ringtail is very cute too. He strikes me as being a small creature too.. like a 4-foot tall anthro. But the coloring is very nice. I feel like his face is a little off perspective though. Do you layout the head before drawing the features? The cross on the ball thing.

Thank you Sumarra. I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner. WS rescued a pup running in and out of traffic on the 18th and we figured it was only a couple months old. It isn't house broken so I was spending 99% of my time keeping up with it. Then this past Tuesday a lense fell out of my reading glasses and didn't get them replaced till today. Much nicer being able to read what furolks are typing!

I wasn't happy with the left foot on the "Rusty Ringtail" myself. I see what you mean about the face. I will have to create another one of this character and do a better job. One I am more comfortable with.  '<img'>
