Gateway Furmeet ST. Louis MO. Hotel closing.

Checked on this new local convention today and found this info on the site.

Hotel and convention center closing. They are still planning to have the convention. According to the info on their site even the hotel staff is helping to relocate the event. They are going to try to have it  on the same dates. April 18-20. Guess they're looking to not overlap other furry conventions. Motor City fur con Apr. 11-13 and Morphicon May 1-4. Hope to hear good things from them soon. Going to keep everyone up to date.

Promising!!! This is taken directly from Gateway Furmeet's web site.

"We have some excellent news on the hotel front. We have contacted several hotels to find out if they will be able to host Gateway FurMeet, and we have several options to investigate further. In addition, several other hotels in the area have contacted us and shown interest in hosting the convention in the wake of the Millenium Hotel’s announcement, and we will continue to follow up with them to determine which hotel will best meet our needs."

This is really good news. I'll keep everyone informed.

neat i'd think with a name like " gateway to the west" it'd be in oregon with the oregon trail and all.

If i remember correctly Independence  MO. is where the Oregon trail started from. Not really sure why ST Louis is call the gateway to the west. Omaha, Pittsburgh, Fargo and Fort Wayne also are know as Gateway to the West. Guess it was better than being known for a city by two muddy rivers that flood. In reality it's a bad slogan for any town. It's like saying if you want to get anywhere, pass threw here.

THEY HAVE A HOTEL!!! No information yet. As soon as I see it I'll post the new hotel name here. REALLY looking forward to my second firry con!!!!
