Dumb mistakes

Ok guys. Here's is a thread to just post dumb things that people have done. It can be something simple or it can be something historical

Here's an example (I could of made a simple one. oh well...):

Creating a law that only allows you to eat fish over X length. This allowed the fish that were smaller through natural selection to breed more and pass on their genes. This lead to a decrease in the size of many species of fish.

A law we have in my USA state that makes illegal to relieve yourself while looking up on Sunday...

Australia's life sentences are 25 years without parole as well as i heard that some where in America it is illegal to whistle while under water.

In Oklahoma, a state with no significant bodies of water, it's illegal to go whaling, have premaridal relations,

Another one in my state is that it's illegal to keep time in any way with music being played in food service businesses.

In Indiana the value of π is legally ruled as simply and only 3 and you can legally avoid paying for a dependents medical care by praying.

There's thousands of them...people are legimately brain dead on a whole.

Blue Laws in the U.S. in general, such as in Denver, Colorado it is illegal to drive a black car on Sunday. Not that Iv ever seen those laws enforced...as repealing them is more expensive than leaving them on the books with no enforcement....

Sexting laws in NSW (Australia) are stupid.

Under 18's who share pictures of themselves naked or even partially naked with another (even if it's their Girlfriend or Boyfriend) are charged with child pornography. They can face up to 15 years in prison, be put of the sex offenders list and face living the rest of their life with a criminal record. (stupid)

In the 1980s my USA state joined the ranks of those states passing non-binding nuclear freeze referendums. Our remaining two active-duty Air Force bases (with B-52 bombers) closed by 1995.

About 5 years ago, a ballot referendum permitting unrestricted stem cell research was also passed. Cures for everything were promised. About the only thing cured so far has been the unemployment of microbiologists.
