What makes a pet?

<< < (2/3) > >>

Kobuk:
What makes a pet is ultimately how much care and training a person puts into it. ;)
Feeding, cleaning, grooming, and so much more.
If a person can't or won't take proper care of a pet, then why did you bother getting one at all? Or better yet, maybe that person shouldn't have one.

Rocket T. Coyote:
Some insects make interesting pets. Saw a video of someone's pet bumble bee. Another with jumping spiders. Preying mantids make great pets though, they feed themselves and entertain the cat. I'll find Monarch or giant silk moth caterpillars and feed them to maturity. Then release them once they hatch and develop their wings.

Uncle Kage has a pet insect. His fursona is a cockroach.  :D

Jade Sinapu:
I wouldn't have a pet insect.  I don't think they can reciprocate affection.

It really helps when what you are taking care of,  comes to you and says,  thanks for the good food,  want to play,  I like you,  etc.  And by speak I mean body language.  It helps in that all the hard work was worth it.
