The 2024 Good Furry Award is accepting nominations.

This is the 6th year for the awards, which recognize furries who do good deeds when it comes to charity work, volunteering, spreading positive feels, or otherwise just being pawsome. I, Kevin Hile/Grubbs Grizzly, am the administrator of the award, which many of you likely have not heard about. I am resolving to try and do better to get the word out on this award.

Sorry for the gravedig.
Shame Old Rabbit isn't around anymore. He was always punctual about giving out cupcakes with candles in them for everyone's birthday.
*sigh*
Looks around the empty kitchen.
I could start the trend all over again. But it just wouldn't be the same.
Anyway, Happy Birthday to me.

I don't know how he is doing.  Wish I knew.   We are both ham radio operators,  and he once told me his call sign. With that I might be able to dig and see what's up.

Yeah it wouldn't be the same,  but if he's gone,  and we want to keep going someone will have to do it.

No, it wouldn't be the same. And trying to make it be the same would be just plain wrong. Old Rabbit's tradition of handing out cookies and cupcakes to birthday folks was his and trying to replicate it feels like stepping on his toes.
We should do something new or at least different.

I am lead to believe that the artist and fursuiter, FayV, who attended college here in MI and appeared at AC and FCN--possibly other cons--had quietly left the fandom several years ago. Thought to have moved out West, she may have entered politics, becoming a PM for an island nation in The Carribean. While editing my social media, it was discovered that she reacted to several posts. Her sites bear no mention of any art or costuming however. She made the avatar which represents my account here.

Someone phoned in a bomb threat on MCFC--again. This time on a Sunday morning. Everyone had to evacuate the con hotel for several hours while working dogs were brought in from several department to make the sweep. Someone told me the caller was caught and arrested--in California.
