So there was a reason for nearly dying...be it drowning, nearly bleeding out from a gunshot, that fire...regardless, this is where you are now...
Sitting at the other side of the interview table, you see a woman with blond hair wearing a blue tube top showing off the various tattoos on her arms, shoulders, chest, and hands. She smiles as she offers a hand in congratulations "Welcome to A.D.A. kid, we're happy to have you on board." she then pulled a file out of her desk "Get ready though...this job won't be exactly easy..." she slides a few photos towards you depicting both grizzly monsters and infamous criminals. "...you think those things are bad, that's only the tip of the iceberg. But don't worry...little training and you'll be right as rain and ready for the action!"
So this will follow the story of the A.D.A., a special detective agency dealing with the souls of the departed. (Think L.A. Noire meets Murdered: Soul Suspect) They deal with investigations and crimes revolving around hauntings and helping the souls of the deceased move on, easier said than done however seeing it's not just the thugs and murderers on the mortal coil you have to worry about...there's also soul-rending creatures on the spirit coil that will want to more than just thwart your efforts...
Rules:
1. No Godmodding whatsoever
2. What I say goes regarding cases characters are assigned to, evidence and whatnot.
3. Leave combat posts open-ended, this is a dangerous job so expect to get some battle-scars
4. Keep all player disputes to the OOC Thread right here, no need to muddy up the IC with that dribble.
5. Three sentence post minimum, get detailed people!
6. Rule breaking will result in a warning, after two warnings I will either kick you out of the RP or make your experience in this rp miserable by pulling out the rug from under you when you need it most...

Name: Ashe Hawthorne
Age:21
Gender:female
Species: (Humans allowed)rabbit
Appearance:Hawthorne is a slim individual who isn't very muscular and has a slightly messy appearance, she has medium brown fur with dark brown fur. Nothing special, pretty average, no gigantic breasts, no amazing backside, just relatively average. Her teeth are more than a little crooked and close inspection reveals that her body is pockmarked with small scars, scrapes, sings of a unfortunate an clumsy person. (She is not however disfigured in any way) Her height is slightly above average and her weight in the normal BMI range.
Clothing:Most of her clothes are ripped somewhere, and she tends to prefer blacks, grays, and earth tones. She loves her sleeveless t-shirts even though most of them were not sleeveless to begin with

Backstory: Hawthorne has lived a rough life, born in the USA bible belt, at around the age of 3 she was taken from her parents and put in state custody. Her father was extremely abusive. Past that being a young child she fell for the trappings of the religion based group homes and foster homes that the state placed her in. She would pray and pray to have her family back and cried herself to sleep many, many nights. But she never let it show. Outwardly she appeared as a happy, hyperactive, stubborn, and troublesome child. Her brother had been put in custody with her and they were extremely competitive. He had a love of reading and would come home bragging about his scores in the schools motivational reading program. So she taught herself to read. She began reading at a sixth grade level by the time she was in second grade, but she never did catch up to her brother. She was moved around a lot in her younger life, and deep down because of this developed attachment issues. During this time she had developed severe anger issues, and at the age of 8 was put in a mental hospital for trying to hit a kid with a 2x4. After a year or so a family came for her, they had her brother too, and this family, being extremely religious, re-ignited her faith. After a while living with them they became "Mom" and "Dad", but it wasn't meant to last. Only months after they became her family, her mother came for them. She had been fighting the system the entire time and finally got them back. Inside somewhere it tore her. She loved her "Family" but wanted her mother. The problem was solved only two months later when false allegations of abuse were thrown by a vengeful family member and they were put back in the system. Hawthornes anger issues escalated to rage of an animalistic nature and she was moved to a group home where use of non-lethal force was both trained into the employees and encouraged. Even pinned to the ground she would do her best to bite, scratch, claw, anything to cause damage. However they were not using the restraint methods as trained and she ended up with back issues, as well as a severe fear of not being able to breathe, due to the 300-400 pound employees that were trained to simply "sit on them" not acknowledging that they were too heavy for the clients to draw in a breath. in 2008 the home was closed because they accidentally killed a client with their restraint methods and she was moved again. Over the years due to her troublesome nature she had spent a lot of time grounded. But they wouldn't ground her from books. She had read an entire encyclopedia series called "The how and why library" and her passion for science was ignited. She was 11-12 and reading on an 12th grade level.
Over the next years she developed two more "families" and lost them, her light for religion being extinguished altogether. She sank into a dark depression and to this day has attempted to kill herself 14 times. Her attempts have included electrocution, hanging, cutting, falling, stabbing, suffocation, drowning, throwing herself in front of a vehicle, trying to crash her vehicle, poison, starvation, and a few others that she can't remember right now.
She still appears happy on the outside. She will be fine. She doesn't want your pity. She just wants to move on.
Additionally she has been a clumsy and unfortunate person and has had an additional 8 accidental near death experiences, if you want to know, you can ask her.
What led to her current situation? She isn't sure, she's assuming it was another accident or misfortune.
Aside, she isn't one for justice, and she isn't one to spite. she rarely holds grudges, and currently only holds 3, the top of her list being her father. She follows her own moral compass, she isn't neutral, and she isn't an antihero, she just follows what she wants to do. She might save you, or she might ignore your plight, depends on how she feels.

Name: Cheryl Straton
Age: 45
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Appearance: Stands roughly 5'7", long blonde hair, shows very mild signs of aging but looks good for being middle-aged, green eyes like a fresh leaf, various tattoos on her arms, chest, shoulders, and hands which include her children's names, two roses with thorns, a tiger, a crane, a viper, St. Joan of Arc, a celtic cross, and a variety of other things.
Clothing: Wears a blue tubetop and light brown suede jacket with cap sleeves that holds her backup weapon and knife, dark jeans with her main pistol on her right thigh, wedge heels and a string of pearls
Personality: Very tough and to the point on the job although she can hold a conversation and if you get close enough to her...she might tell you a little more about her and her rather intriguing past...
Backstory: A Colorado native who spent ten years as a U.S. Army sniper before the arrest of her first husband and a near fatal gunshot wound forced her into early retirement. After that she remarried and trained as a chef for a while trying to give her and her son Gary a steady life. After the restaurant she worked at closed, Cheryl turned up pregnant again and to her second husband's dismay it was a girl...Sarah. After another messy divorce, Cheryl served as a police officer for a few years, then became a private investigator. (More to be revealed in-story)

Name: Helena Ashenvale
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Species: Raccoon
Appearance: Stands five and a half feet tall, purple fur with the typical markings for a raccoon, brown eyes, dark blonde hair kept in a ponytail.
Clothing: Short sleeve navy blue button down shirt, light pink cami underneath the button down, torn up black skater skirt over pinstripe slacks, grey strappy ankle boots
Personality: Seems rather reserved and held together, appears rather sharp and tactful but has a lot of baggage underneath it all.
Backstory: Grew up a poor child in Romania, her parents worked eighty hour work weeks to keep her and her twin brothers fed, people were attacking one another for a few euros, it was a bad place to grow up. When Helena was 16, an armed robber broke in killing her twin brothers and leaving her with a fatal wound, luckily her parents came home early in time to get her to the hospital. Shortly after, Helena's parents applied for their green cards and brought her to America for a better life. The memory of her brothers' deaths haunted her despite the better surroundings and suffered from near fatal drug overdoses about four times. She still lives with her parents because of her 'concerning' mental state.

Appearance: Stands tall at six foot one, black base fur with bright blue accent markings (abs, chest, ears, lower arms, inner legs, etc.), very muscular and broad shouldered, bright blue eyes.
Clothing: Brown button down shirt with the top two buttons open to his chest, light brown jeans that are frayed at the bottoms, White and black basketball shoes.
Personality: Seems rather stoic, voices himself strongly perhaps even a bit over-confident.
Backstory: Aeon grew up the prize child of a well to do military family in New York, in addition to the pressure his family put on his to bear his family well he also felt responsible to protect his twin sister Syryn. He spent all of his life is prestigious schools building both his mind and body. Shortly after school he went straight into the air force. About a year after his recruitment, he was at home on leave when he pushed his sister Syryn out of the way of a speeding truck. The damage was extensive and Aeon was nearly killed, he was confined to deskwork when he got back to his base. After Aeon's contract ended, not to mention a good amount of physical therapy he worked as a security guard before the A.D.A. recruited him.

Name: Jacques O'Malley

Species: Human
Appearance: Stands 6'0" and clocks in at around 135lb. Has dark brown hair with caramel highlights in it. Usually has his hair done up in a Pompadour. Has stormy blue eyes and sports a small scar on his forehead above his right eye.

Personality: Cocky and full of himself. If he doesn't like you you'll know it soon enough, you mess with his people or step into his turf. He'll definitely let you know it. Can come off as cold and ruthless sometimes. Has been noted to have psychopathic and sadistic tendencies.
Backstory: "He's like a bloodhound when it comes to finding money. Sometimes that money is marked other times it's not. That all depends on if you throw the dog a bone or not." Jacques was born into an upper-middle class family in Jersey. When he wasn't in class you could usually find him making deals for one of the Irish Gangs operating out there. He rose fast through the crime world, gaining fame as a man who got results (and still managed to graduate and start college with the pursuit of having his Masters in Psychology). Which resulted in more work and more money for him, however his fame also netted him a target on his back. It didn't take long for somebody to take aim and fire, when they finally pulled that trigger, it landed Jacques in a world of hurt. Two months in the hospital with three gunshot wounds, two tearing through his right lung and the other grazing his heart just enough to cause him to bleed out. (Well that is if the paramedics didn't get there in time, lucky for him that they did)

Name: Sabine Nyte
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Species: Jackal
Appearance: 5' 6" + long ears. thin build. pitch black with dark blue eyes. Shoulder-length black hair. Has a white question mark shaped spot on right cheek. Wrists are covered in scars, though she Is fairly attractive despite this.
Clothing: typically black pants and a black or white tank top. Black converse. Wears a sapphire pendant.
Personality: depressed and slightly self-loathing, as well as masochistic. Usually very quiet; believes nobody cares about her.
Backstory: Sabine grew up the older daughter of two career thieves. Her younger sister quickly took to the trade and seemed to become the fvorite(at least to Sabine). As everyone seemed to be drawn to her younger sister, Sabine began to sink into depression; she began cutting herself around 17. The more depressed and masochistic she became, the less others wanted to be around her(once again, the way she percieved it.) this led to her sinking further in; a vicious cycle. She has been pronounced dead seven times, from various causes, and has come close to death countless more times.

On second thought, I think I'll stick with the one. Not that I can't handle two, its just that the one I thought about using is very undeveloped and I don't want to force developing it.
