Quick little bugger, you. Anyway, so you don't waste your money, system requirements:733 MHz 1.2 GB, 32MB/3D t&l capable video card, 128 MB of RAM, But I'd suggest at least a 64 mb video card, as my friend's 32 doesn't work. I run Halo at near-minimim video settings on something at least 64 MB for a video card (I bought a 64, but I got something better. I'm not sure what) and 900 MHz, though I can't run story mode very well because there are so many enemies. It runs on 56k, but there is quite a bit of lag sometimes on slower servers. I can't even upgrade to broadband in my area, so I have to live with this until they fix it (they'll most likely fix it sooner or later).

I hope I helped 'n stuff.

Well, tell me if you think it'll work or not:
-1.1 GHz Pentium 3
-32 MB nVidia GeForce 2
-256 MB RAM
-30 GB drive, mostly empty
I'm over in a few places, but my video card has been known to be a bit flaky.

I think you'll be fine, Sunoo. Your graphics card is pretty ok for a 32MB, but for some reason everybody says that nVidia doesn't work. Mine works fine.

As I said: mine works fine for me having such a crappy computer, but I had to tweek some settings to get it there. Most of these people are just richboy X-Box fanatics who have no idea what they are doing. Still, the shortcut trick works for most of them.

I'd probably have played Halo if it had come out on PC 2 years ago like it was supposed to. Now Bungie (one of my fave companies) is 0wned by M$.

I really need a new graphics card. My Geforce 2 GTS isnt cutting it anymore.

Darius:
The next "revision" of the XBox will contain ATi chips, just so you know. '<img'>

And I think that my pc can very well handle those specs:
2 x 2.4 Ghz P4 XEON CPU (533FSB 512Kbs L2)
1 Gig PC2100 DDR ECC Double Channel RAM
PowerColor ATi 9600 PRO 128 Megs AGP 8x
2 x 120 Gigs Western Digital Caviar 8meg cache 7200 RPM
HDDs in RAID 1 (3Ware 7506-4LP PCI-X 64Bit card)
Soundblaster Audigy
-EDIT-
And all this on a NEC MultiSync FE950+ 19" monitor... and maybe a second 19" plugged into that card soon. ^^

(enough system bragging for me now...)

Now, to get some money to buy games...
Couple good ones should come out soon. ^^;

Yep. I too read [H]ardOCP. It's inconceivable that they want to make a second console considering how much of a money soak the xbox is now. But I wouldn't put it past them.

Bill Gates makes over a million dollars every day, I doubt that he'd put off selling another X-box even if it did mean losing a couple more million.

Well, you DO know, Darius, that not only HardOCP says that. It was on CNet, on IGN, etc... every big gaming website had the news... -_^

Bought the game...
finished it on normal in 2.4 days...
and not bad resolution either. I ran it in 1152xidunremember in all high graphics (without specular and low particles tho, but still looks sweet!!!'<img'>.
My main beef with it is that it's so SHORT!

Anybody bought it so we can play MP or somethnig?

In it's first year of release, the xbox lost M$ one *billion* dollars.

yup, and on a game they sell 70$CA, they make maybe 25$. When the "I need an xbox" rush is gone, it's candy money. And when you consider Microsoft's way, mroe or less selling at a loss until there ain't nobody else and then, making PURE money, well, we know where that's going...
But hey, don't say that's not right. I'm sure a lot of you buy your games at Wal-Mart, and first thing you know, that's EXACTLY what they do too. So don't be so quick dissing MS on that.

Darius: Multiply one million times 365, I doubt he cares. '<img'> Also, remember that he made quite a bit of money on X-Box software.

Firebreath:Halo is short? I've never gotten around to beating it the whole way through, but the levels seemed long and boring to me. I can't even play single player on my computer because my video card is acting up. I can play multiplayer just fine though, catch me on AIM or MSN and I'll play ya sometime.

well, some parts are really long and boring (Spark 343, anyone? UGH....) but it's not even 12 hours of gameplay. More like 8-10, tops.
Well, at least, that's how long it took me. x_x

The Library... ugh. I'll never sit through that again. Expecially not in co-op.
edit:Co-op isn't in Halo PC, btw.

Sad thing they didn't include Coop in the PC version. I mean, I freaking LOVE coop stuff in every game possible. I admit some games out there aren't compatible (Rallisport Chalenge, for instance), but dang, Halo would have been a fine platform for it!!!

Allright Halo players, here's the lowdown:
I currently have a station running, and running WELL, the HALO dedicated server. I don't mind that much to leave it up. BUT, here's the catch:
1. I reserve myself the right to stop it whenever for whatever reason.
2. if I keep it online, it'll have to be for a restricted amount of people, namely furries and my pals.
3. it'll be password protected, for the good of my own connection.

So, if I get enough interest, I won't mind to leave it online. Otherwise, I probably won't be keeping it up all the time.
Just so you know why you might experience at some point some lag anyway, here are the specs of the machine on which the server is running:
CPU: AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 Ghz (266Mhz FSB)
RAM: 1 gig DDR 2100 non-ecc
HDD: 1 x 40 gig HDD (Western digital ATA/100 2 meg cache)
Video: NVidia GeForce3 Ti500 64 megs AGP 4x
OS: Windows 2000 Server (SP3/4, dun remember perfectly... the newest anyway)

As you can see, it's not one hell of a machine for a dedicated server, tho it does the job. I limited the amount of players to 10, but if I get good enough feedback, I'll pump it to 12, then 14 and finally, to the max which is 16, as long as lag is poor.

So, what do you say, guys?
