Meat cooking preferences?
« on: May 12, 2016, 12:56:48 pm »
It's a common enough question that gets asked in a restaurant or during a BBQ when cooking various meats: How do you like it cooked?

Me, I usually prefer medium rare for my burgers and steak.

Flame broiled and well done. Slow smoked is good too.
It's been said that rats can gain access to your home by climbing up threw your toilet. I prefer to use the front door.

My parents considered well-done meat not done enough. I once commented to a restaurant server that Mom wanted her meat extra well done, then taken out in the back and blasted with a flamethrower. Mom thought I was being impertinent. Maybe it was teenage rebellion but I decided long ago I wanted my meat medium-rare. Still do. Nothing better than a juicy grilled tri-tip.

One of the things my half-sister and I both inherited from our mom is a love of rare steaks.  And by rare, I mean so rare and bloody that it still squeals when you poke it with a fork.  In fact, people have said that it makes them sick to watch us eat our preffered steak, what with the ensuing dribbles of gore.  More or less, cut off it's horns, wipe it's butt, burn the hair off and stick it on a plate.

I like medium rare because it is cooked enough but not to hard. I find that if you cook a steak until it is well done the meat is not tender enough.

medium rare -> well done (depending on the type) i used to have steak once in awhile but my family kinda just stopped bringing me out to eat, or cook anything. (been mostly having microwaved food for the past 2 months)

It depends on the cut of meat.

Steaks and Beef roast  medium rare, I nice shade of pink no red.

Hamburger well done no exceptions.

Other cuts are moot for slow basing and  smoking BBQ

Pork and Chicken  well done.

I will eat literally any meat if it comes out of a crockpot. Otherwise, medium-rare.

Medium Well.
