Hello,

Sometime ago I asked about inking techniques and received a wide range of answers.  Thanks a bunch. '<img'>

Now I have a picture I drew and inked using a sharpie and couple of technical pens.  I spent a lot of time and practise trying to find a style I'm comfortable with.  During that time I drew numerous cartoon animals that I hope to come back to refine and post!

Anyway, here is the pic and it's Chistmas themed.

Comments, suggestions, etc welcome.

Thanks.

If you want more info on inking, Scott Ruggels has some good tutorials on his site. That said, I think more focus should be put on anatomy and stuff first. Attached is a pic (albiet small) of a reindeer, which I assume yours is. There are many many many more pics you can get at Corbis or Google's image search. Searching for a pic of reindeer skeletal/muscular structure would be useful, too. References can help a lot, I find. Good luck '<img'>

Ps. If you're going for a cartoony style, This tute (of sorts) by Preston Blair may be useful. Just click on a chapter number in the left frame.

Gotta admit, really nice, very cartoony!
"Beyond the darkness is a door to the light,
A door to your soul...

When darkness falls
Allow the light of your heart to guide you

Hope burns brighter than any star
And will shine long after the last star dies"

Manic-
(Bookmark link to Scott Ruggels' site) Thanks for the info.  :)At this point I'm still at the experiment and learn stages.  I'm certain to be using anatomical references on animals, a lot.

Beyond the darkness-
Thanks for the compliment. '<img'> As I progress, I will post links to my experimental pics for further feedback.
