Making Blades the Raccoon
« on: November 07, 2013, 03:18:29 pm »
I've decided it's finally time to make my fursuit! That's right, gonna bring Blades to life!

I've already gotten the fur and such so I've been working away with my goal being to finish Blades by my birthday. Wish me luck.

First Update!

So far I got the tail finished and i'm quite pleased with the result I must say!

also, managed to finish the fur for my knees since Blades always seems to wear torn-up jeans and what-not!

Holy jeez. As a fellow raccoon, I have to say, that's one of the best 'coon tails I've seen. Well done <3 I cannot wait to see the rest.

Could've been shorter and more bushy but over all pretty good.

Update time!

this is a rather small update, but still...anyways, I finished Blades' keychains. Not quite the result I expected but the whole chain still turned out cool. Also the skull's eyes glow...awesome for raves!

Now to finally order the rest of the supplies I need, as well as my furtopia t-shirt...

Accessories for fursona! You rock T-Yoshi45! Really like the ripped blue jean idea as well.

Your fursuit is coming along awesomely. I LOVE your tail and how you did it. Perhaps one day (after you get done with your fursuit of course) you can tell us how you made it.

@cause the rat: Thank ya much! I do feel the smaller things really make the character or fursona in this case.

@Madam Glitch: Thanks, I've pretty much got the bottom half finished! And you're right, I may just do that after this is all said and done

Update time!

I finally finished the raw top half of the suit, it still needs to be shaven down a little and I have to add Blades' tribal markings and such but I'm impressed with how far I've come thus far.

and to anyone who was curious as to how I made my tail, here's a video on the method I used.

Don't really have any photos for this update but i'll say the suit part is almost done, just need to finish sewing in the tribal marks. I finished the mold for my pawpads and I've started to build the base for my head. I never thought I'd get this far :orraccoon:

My, grandmother, what big ears you have! :D

Seriously, it looks awesome... although it also looks like it was licked by cat one too many times with all the fur sticking out like that.  I also can't see the teeth, but i'm assuming that's the camera.

Anyways...  HAVE SOME CAKE!!

Dog brushes help significantly with this.  I highly recommend the investment.  When using one on your fursuit, though, use a low to moderate degree of force at most; you want to straighten the fur, *not* pull it out (you'll have a tiny bit of fur come loose, though, which is somewhat unavoidable).

Anyway, congrats on finishing the suit!

i agree with kobuk you should give it a trim (its a teeny bit scrufy)
and give it a good brushing
but well done and wear it with pride that you made it :D
