Title: What's for dinner?
Post by: Aakosir on January 12, 2016, 04:03:45 pm
What are you cooking for breakfast/lunch/dinner?

I made yummy chicken alfredo the other night. Seasoned with garlic, basil, oregano and redpepper, topped with fresh cut tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese with steamed broccoli and creamed corn.

Tonight is just one of those microwave tv dinners with sliced turkey, mashed potatos with gravy, and green beans w/ carrots.

Truthfully? I have no idea as of right now.

Probably a salad wrap, which (for me) is just a tortilla with spring mix, diced tomatoes, and onions.

Just debating using smokey honeymustard or ranch sauce.

I'm hoping this will help ease my stomach too, been having aches, we'll leave it at that.

Mmm, I really like wraps. It's been a while since I've had a chicken wrap.

Tonight we had Hamburger Helper, not my favorite dinner, but I made up for it with fresh cut green peppers, cucumber and carrots. My girls enjoy their veggies

A decent observation.  But i'm pretty sure i died a long time ago... so i guess we're both right?

Speaking of dinner i didn't eat; sharp cheese and grape juice.  Three nights in a row now, that's been my dinner... that in no way did i eat.

Chicken tikka masala over rice. Diced chicken breasts fried with  Jamaican jerk seasoning. Add the tikka masala sauce (I cheat--it's from a jar) and simmer. Pour over cooked rice. Yum. The kids don't like it. Oh well, that means I've got leftovers for the next day's dinner.

Homemade Italian wrap. Credit Kobuk with the inspiration for wraps--easy to make and very good.

Ingredients (which may vary depending upon what kind of deli meat I have on hand):
Flour tortilla. If it's been in the refrigerator, I warm it in the microwave for 12-14 seconds to bring it to room temperature
Deli ham, salami, other Italian deli meat
Cheese--jack, Colby, or Havarti
A generous handful of chopped Romaine lettuce
A sprinkling of balsamic vinaigrette (otherwise the wrap is kind of dry)
Roll it up--it looks rather like a burrito--and eat
Prep time is 5 minutes
Cleanup time is 2 minutes because I don't use any utensils, just a paper plate

I love my kitchen. I love this thread!
Now if only I could figure out how to attach pictures from my phone, I would show off my hot cinnabun pancakes with cream cheese frosting.

I had a bagel and cream cheese tonight... it was too hot for me to want to cook, but the rest of the family was having a dish I really dislike the mouthfeel of.
